Great sitcom idea!

A rip-off of 'Father Ted', except instead of having priests on Craggy Island, make them three oddball mullahs in Afghanistan.

Also, they would all be executed at the end of every episode, only to show up again next week like nothing happened!

A few years ago me and a friend had an idea for a sitcom called C.H.U.M.S., based around stupid puns, our intense love of Boy Meets World, slyly taking the piss out of our mates, etc. Never did anything about it, obviously - that kind of thing could never work on national telly. Bastards.

The 50 most brilliant people in the world are given access to the most up-to-date instant computer link-up and information access technology possible. They immediately hunker down to discuss Fraggle Rock.

That's not a comedy, Mark, that's high and serious drama.

This is probably not the best place to bring up my failed sit-com idea Tora! Tora! Tora! based on a submarine (I know - I just like the name). Fundamantally based on the boredom and ennui of currently being a submariner when there are no wars going on. Kind of floundered because there were too many gags about Denzel Washington in Crimson Tide and how were we ever going to top the episode where the submarine got shagged by a sperm whale.

That reminds me - I've got an idea for a 'Big Brother' type show, except set on a Russian nuclear submarine that's in trouble.

Wow, Tarden. That was in such poor taste that I can't stop laughing.

My idea for a sitcom was based on my experiences growing up in rural/suburban America. It was going to highlight exactly how boredom and lack of ambition can generate awe-inspiring levels of insanity. Then, "Twin Peaks" came out and made the entire foundation of my show irrelevant.
