Obtaining cheap cigarettes

I want to pay less money for cigarettes and I want Lucky Strikes and Gitanes. I live in England. How legal is it for me to have a friend in Luxembourg post 800 cigs to me? Are they likely to be impounded by customs? If so, does anyone have any better ideas for obtaining them cheaply?

To procure cigaretes as cheaply as possible, mug children from your local high school for them... you may not get your preferred brand, but they'll be free and you'll be doing your bit to stem the tide of underage nicotine addiction sweeping the United Kindom

Cigarettes are also pretty cheap in Ireland (compared to the UK). I think you should experiment with postage and perhaps branch into weekend Euro-hopping if it doesn't work out. If you are going to smoke yourself to death you may as well take in some culture while you're doing it.

Move to Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Or just the southern part of the US in general. Fuck, here in Nashville, a pack of smokes is still only $3.00.

You might also consider quitting. That's my plan in the next few months once I get the okay from il dottore.

I'm not quitting and I'm not wanting to cross seas to suck cheap lung-cloggers. But cheers for the advice anyhow. No other dirty smokers as tight-fisted and lazy as me then?

Luxembourg is part of the EU (isn't it?) so it wouldn't be illegal at all, I think, as 800 cigarettes is clearly within the 'personal use' definition. Just in case, make sure he doesn't label the package as cigarettes.

Yeah I was thinking of the EU thing too, just hoped someone in Customs might be hanging around here. I'll update the results of this scam when I'm the proud owner of 3 months of cigs/£75 out of pocket.

Oh and do Gitanes really taste like cowshit? I'm after trying them because I'm a Gainsbourg fanboy but I'm not 200-useless-cigs-worth of a fanboy.

Gitanes are horrible. Among the nastiest things I've ever smoked. You are better off just buying a pack if and when you go to France as opposed to getting a whole carton.

Customs aren't really all that on top as far as cigarette smuggling goes. I've brought back 1200 from the States before with no problems.

Ok, I sent 110 euros to this girl in Luxembourg. I'm getting 650 cigs in return. Postage and currency exchange fees have fucked over my savings so I'm only getting a 20 deck for about £2.80 (assuming they even arrive). I'm greedy and mean so I'm thinking of other schemes.

I plan to take a day trip to somewhere cheap and bring 3000 cigs back to Manchester. Anyone got any advice on this?

What're the cheapest cig countries in Europe? The Czech Republic sells them at stupid prices but are they the dirtiest scum-ridden cigs on earth?

What's the cheapest way of getting there? Paris is tempting at £32 for a return coach journey, not sure how much airfare is.

Any advice not along the lines of 'oh just quit, you'll live longer and not stink' is welcome.
