No, not novelizations of movies and comic book arcs. I once had a short list of super-person novels, but I lost it. I'm thinking "Unbreakable" here. Anyone know anything?

Superfolks, which I only barely remember and can't recall the author of, was long out of print the last time I looked for it.

There's the Wild Cards series edited by George R.R. Martin.

John Varley had an anthology out at some point, I think.

There's a short story by, well, me, which will be appearing somewhere, I just don't know where yet.

There's bound to be more, but the list I would've kept was two computers ago.

Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie. I'm not kidding!

a lot of Roger Zelazny's novels are essentially about superheroes, albeit without all the tropes of the genre.

Temps is an intermittently excellent collection of short stories about rubbish british superheroes

Gladiator, by Philip Wylie.

Wasn't there a Eurotemps as well?

The Superman III novelisation is by William Kotzwinkle => it is worth reading (not as great as his ET novelisation and its sequel, though). Better is the superb Last Son Of Krypton by Elliott S. Maggin.

Does Kav&Clay count?

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 16:55 (twenty-two years ago)

No - it's a novel about comic book creators who produce comics about superheroes.

Thanks to all. I will seek these out. Re: Kav - not exactly what I had in mind, but in the end, likely as appealing to anyone interested in this stuff anyway.
