Italian footballing renaissance between... my two least favourite Italian teams. And no Barney "Nedved" Rubble either. Still, at least Del Piero can choke in a major match yet again.

2-0 Juventus

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 15:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Hope you're right about the result Dom, as I'm £80 better off if Juve win.

I think Davids will be well up for it, and if he doesn't get sent off could be man of the match.

James Ball (James Ball), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 15:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Why did I think it was tomorrow for some reason? Well, now I know what I'm doing for lunch...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 15:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I have been working like a dog all day and I am going to drink like a fish all night and watch this match.

Can't see Juve losing, even without good old Pavel.

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 15:44 (twenty-two years ago)

I just driven home through Stretford - Italians everywhere! I'm going to see Broadcast instead of watching the match.

Tag (Tag), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 15:57 (twenty-two years ago)

I just drove home through Stretford - Italians everywhere! I'm going to see Broadcast instead of watching the match.

Tag (Tag), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 15:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Now how did that happen?

Tag (Tag), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 15:58 (twenty-two years ago)

come on AC Milan!

I won't be watching this unfortunately.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 16:25 (twenty-two years ago)

looks like milan are playing roque junior = uh oh

Chip Morningstar (bob), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 16:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Thank gawd my game in Lil' Italy was last night. Tonight I gotta get my ass out to Etobicoke where no one will be supporting eitherside.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 17:09 (twenty-two years ago)

The centre circle is brilliant!

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 18:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I was noticing that! Some good moments in the first half there...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 18:47 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm listening to it on the radio... what's the centre circle all about then?

Sounds a cracking match, Juventus have been disappointing. Inzaghi's as shit as ever.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 18:50 (twenty-two years ago)

There is a faint football pattern in the centre circle, that looks mowed-in.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 19:21 (twenty-two years ago)

the deadlock continues - penalties perhaps?

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 19:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, very possibly.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 19:50 (twenty-two years ago)

i would've predicted the penalty results but you never know with Juve, despite the somewhat predictable nature of this match

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 19:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Come on then, whose going to spoon it over the bar in penalties? I'm going with Ambrosini.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 20:10 (twenty-two years ago)

I hope it's Inzaghi (he dives, he whines, he gets caught offside) but I bet he won't miss.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 20:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Trezeguet's the first on the fuck up list.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 20:20 (twenty-two years ago)

And now Seedorf's joined him, 1-1.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 20:21 (twenty-two years ago)

And now Zalyetta's done it. It's a goalkeeping workshop here.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 20:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Bloody hell, can someone score a penalty around here?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 20:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Montero's missed now, Christ on a lamppost...

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 20:23 (twenty-two years ago)

fkn amazing...!!!!

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 20:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Nesta's scored. What's all that about then?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 20:24 (twenty-two years ago)

What odds Del Piero's about to miss?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 20:24 (twenty-two years ago)

OK, I'll shut up then.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 20:25 (twenty-two years ago)

It's Shevechenko...

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 20:25 (twenty-two years ago)

AC Milan: champions of Europe

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 20:25 (twenty-two years ago)

and Shevchenko did get his goal in the end. good for him.

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 20:27 (twenty-two years ago)

He looks like Spencer Big Brother.

Cozen (Cozen), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 20:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Can nobody referee a penalty shoot out? Not even in the Champions League final?

It seems to be standard practice now to take a jump forward just before the ball is struck, thereby narrowing the angles. Buffon did this when he saved Figo's penalty in the semi and both keepers were at it this evening.

bert (bert), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 20:47 (twenty-two years ago)

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Alex K (Alex K), Thursday, 29 May 2003 07:52 (twenty-two years ago)

um, didn't watch this. My dad thought it was boring as in lots of defending. my brother said he couldn't appreciate it.

I rather have tight 0-0 score with loads of tackles than 4-3. nothing annoys me more than poor defending.

and AC milan won! and I got to torment my brother over it! hurrah!!

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 29 May 2003 09:32 (twenty-two years ago)

The centre circle remained the best thing! I predict it will be programmed into all future football video games. And that other teams will try and out-do this...ie Arsenal will have a cannon, Liverpool a griffin, and Spurs a cock.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 29 May 2003 15:09 (twenty-two years ago)

two years pass...
roque junior sounds like a wu tang psuedonym
