Making More $$$ Not Working: C / D

What kind of a world / economy is it where I have to turn down a job (& "important job experience") because I make $400+ more / month sitting on my ass and asking questions like this?

It's a world I should be happy to live in, I think. But what do YOU think?

Did you let them know the reason you turned it down? Also, it might be less money, but it may have uh benefits that may uh come in handy (like uh health insurance) and maybe it won't end after 6 months, too.

Well, without getting into details (i.e. $$$ - though I did allude to the green in my original post), it was me turning down a temp job that didn't have any perks (outside of free parking) in a field (IT help dood) that doesn't really pertain to my field of study (Comp Sci programming dood). And of course I told them why I was turning them down - this after they erroneously told me what kind of salary I would've gotten when I originally (tentatively) accepted the job.

I'm hoping this thread can be generalized enough so more folks (besides me) can benefit. Sean, if you're around, post pics of bears in the office (ideally, wearing ties - none of that Casual Friday horsesense). Or maybe some Stencil-as-Gordon-Gecko/Donald-Trump pics.

Wow. Sean, you've become the Photoshop Bitch. What do you have to say for yourself? Are you going to Disneyworld?

and is there a cat there blowing up Space Mountain with its Laser Eyes?

Man, I was trying to defer & give Sean props for his PS acumen, and Ally makes it sound like a bad thing!

But, seriously, Sean, WTF? Get to work already.

Any Catzilla destruction pics should involve the Prudential Building or the Sears Tower. Or Microsoft HQ.

Dude, are you like Al Qaeda now?

The Gordon Gekko thing is funny though since I'm wearing a tie and have my hair slicked back today (had a pretty pointless "interview" with an internal Bank recruiter).

If I understand the question correctly, all is well with world as you describe it. Last fall, I took a teaching gig that impacted upon my unemployment collection, but it was something that I wanted to do and something that I thought would be helpful to me career-wise.

Sometimes it seems like to be comfortable and happy one must relentlessly pursue money making jobs, no matter your interest level in them. what a sad way.
