Quit Smoking somehow with TwinLab's Diet Fuel

Magically, this stuff appears to really curb cravings for cigarettes. I thought I'd quit for real again about the same time I decided to get healthy again in general, which means less food, beer, wine and more working out.

I originally just popped 2 of these old, stagnant pills that had been collecting dust in my cupboard for the last 2 years or so in the hopes that it would motivate me to work out. It didn't. But, I skipped coffee.

Long story short, I was popping 2 at breakfast and 2 at lunch all last week to see if it would do anything. It curbs your appetite INCREDIBLY. Something else weird is that it totally makes you forget about smoking completely.

It was the easiest smoking cessation I've ever had and I didn't even really try or do anything.

Just thought I'd share this info. It worked better for me than Nicorette or The Patch.

Hm...well, what are the active ingredients, anyway?

They almost sound like those dodgy old diet pills that were loaded with speed! If so, where do I get some!!

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 30 May 2003 03:03 (twenty-two years ago)

ford pills are still speedy aren't they?

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Friday, 30 May 2003 03:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Um arent they laxatives? :-/

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 30 May 2003 03:14 (twenty-two years ago)

ah i'm thinking of something else entirely

an ex of mine was prescribed some diet pills that were definitely speedy. she had that speedy smell the entire time she was taking them.

That stinky sharp BO smell everyone in clubs wiffs of? ew, I know the one.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 30 May 2003 03:30 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, it's a sort of bitey unwashed type thing

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Friday, 30 May 2003 03:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Heh you make her sound like cheese.

I picked up TwinLabs Diet Fuel while finishing up a major project, because the Walgreen's had a sale, making it the cheapest-per-milligram caffeine in the store. Didn't do a thing for cigarette cravings, but any time I'm reaching for caffeine, I've got a lighter in the other hand anyway.

Probably can't get it in Australia. The US sells all kinds of weird stuff that wouldnt pass our drug laws in a pink fit, which is a shame.

like that cough syrup that's pure Dextromethorphan maaaan

Contents per pill: 400 mg guarana extract (22% caffeine, so, 88 mg caffeine -- about as much as a Coke, I think, much less than a Vivarin); Citrus Aurantium Fruit Extract (9.75 mg synephrine alkaloids, which are a mild stimulant if I remember right), St. John's Wort (.45 mg hypericin, commonly recommended for depression), L-Phenylalanine (which I remember from the smart drug days; is it an amino acid?), Green Tea Leaf extract (epigallocatechin gallate), Quercetin (?), Citrus Bioflavonoid Complex (naringin; isn't Citrus Bioflavanoid the flavor of the new Mt Dew product?), Ginger Root (mild stimulant, mild digestive which probably helps with the stomach problems caffeine can cause when taken without food, sometimes recommended for nicotine cravings), Cayenne Fruit (mild stimulant).

It looks like it's your basic plant-derived stimulant mix with a few things in there to keep the jitters down.

L-Phenylalanine (which I remember from the smart drug days; is it an amino acid?)

Yep.

Wow that sounds great, for the appetite reducing reasons!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 30 May 2003 09:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, I was thinking that it's sort of a relaxing stimulant -- much like Nicotine! Maybe that's why. It's been 2 weeks now for me, which is nothing to brag about, but it's been super-easy.

Quercetin is one of the key flavonols in wine, I seem to recall.
