Aww sorry Mark, I know u gotta work!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 30 May 2003 14:04 (twenty-two years ago)

a friend's band is playing tonight at Arlene Grocery, so i'm going along to that. their opener is an instrumental "prog-punk" (!!) bunch of portly young boys who purportedly have a touch of hero-worship about my friend's band; i had no idea anyone had ever heard of my friend's band but whatever

saturday back to the fabled 4th ave record-seller during the day no doubt, and now i know where his little incense shop is so even if it's raining i can score

the rest of the weekend i will while away somehow, maybe i will meet up with b3cky st4rk who until yesterday i hadn't seen in six years; at lunch-time i saw her slowly walking towards the old world trade center site (i work right next to it) and though her hair was cut shorter she was unmistakably flaky space-cadet becky, i'm surprised i didn't see her stumble in her reverie; i asked her what she was up to and she said she was going on tour in august with her "puppet show rock band"!!!!!

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 30 May 2003 14:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Tonight: I have a show and I want to go to this other rock show and I'm gonna try to do both.
Tomorrow: Who knows? Sleep late? Go to my favorite coffee shop? Watch More S&TC?
Sunday: Work out. Do nothing. Read.

Sarah Mclusky (coco), Friday, 30 May 2003 14:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Tonight: catch up on all the work I didn't do this week, burn a ton of cds ( i could catch a double bill at the drive-in "Matrix Reloaded" with "Daddy Daycare" !?!??)
Saturday : watch it hail and rain, take inventory of furniture to move and get rid of clothes I've had since the 9th grade, eat lots of food.
Sunday: paint, eat lots of food, watch it rain.

Carey (Carey), Friday, 30 May 2003 14:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Tonight: band practice (always fun & a nice little workout), followed by drinks/playing pool/air hockey, to be followed later by a party where I will try not to make too much of an ass of myself...ah who am I kidding?

Tomorrow: attend my little sister's baby shower (yes boys are allowed), then off to a field party/gig-with-my-other-band (not the funky-rapcore band, but the electro-jazz trio) out on this amazing badasserific farm

Sunday: mad enormous amounts of yardwork to be done (cut down a friggin tree, pull some weeds, mow, etc), then my boy's mama gonna bring the boy home, then we will watch the Simpsons while I do laundry

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 30 May 2003 14:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Sit in the sunshine eating Fab lollies. Occasionally pausing to have some booze. Then going back to eating Fab lollies.

Emma, Friday, 30 May 2003 14:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I've got fab lollies in the freezer at the moment, i plan to have them tomorrow! yay!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 30 May 2003 14:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Tonight : beer
Saturday : exam revision and/or quick visit into town with kids - they want to eat in Chinatown.
Sunday : Band rehearsal and exam revision.

Dr. C (Dr. C), Friday, 30 May 2003 14:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Friday: Drinks after work, possibly involving sitting in the park with much bouze, before heading off home for a (reasonably) early night.

Saturday: Helping a mate move into his new place in the morning, then somewhere followed by an afternoon sitting in the sun and then a meal out somewhere while we indocrinate said friend into the SE London Mafia.

Sunday: Off to see some of my friend's artwork in a gallery in St Katharine's dock, followed by a curry at Brick Lane and then, depending on where people are and when, a late afternoon FAP in Clerkenwell.

Should be a good one.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 30 May 2003 14:29 (twenty-two years ago)

tonight: read remaining literature about and write essay on 'social function of mosques', begin work on new flash presentation
tomorrow: photocopy english notes, go all the way to university just to return some keys, continue work on essay and flash stuff, maybe start looking over english notes.
sunday: try and complete essay, continue flash presentation/continue work on another animated piece, look over notes for history of art test on tues. it only gets harder from here.

mitch lastnamewithheld (mitchlnw), Friday, 30 May 2003 14:48 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm gonna go and see Bringing Down the House! Might go to the FAP for a couple of hours.

jel -- (jel), Friday, 30 May 2003 15:11 (twenty-two years ago)

It took me three days to recover from last weekend...

(FX: Everything goes wavy as the FLASHBACK occurs) Hmmm we've drunk all the beer now it's time to alternate shots of gin and bourbon because this is a good idea.

I'm taking it easy this weekend.

lawrence kansas (lawrence kansas), Friday, 30 May 2003 15:13 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm going home to VA.

Mary (Mary), Friday, 30 May 2003 15:18 (twenty-two years ago)

you know what? i'm gonna like hang round LA and stuff.

henrietta falconer, Friday, 30 May 2003 15:46 (twenty-two years ago)

go to the getty gareth. see if you can make it inside the "authorized access only" meeting-house. however first bend down for the medipack, roll right, and shoot the dogs as they come through the door.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 30 May 2003 15:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Mary take me with you please? I need to get oughtta here.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Friday, 30 May 2003 15:50 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm not sure suburban VA is what you need though.

Mary (Mary), Friday, 30 May 2003 16:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I actually like NOVA okay. But have fun in VA! Bring back cartons of smokes! They're only $20 there!!!

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Friday, 30 May 2003 16:16 (twenty-two years ago)

send me postcard!

council bluffs memorial halibo orange helvetia trading card company, Friday, 30 May 2003 16:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Gareth, how much drugs have you taken on your cross-country trip?

I am going to work til probably like 7, go home, sleep until probably like midnight, unless I go to Astoria but I don't think I will. Tomorrow I am going to Bloomingdales & L&T and also to bring my dress to get altered, then I am probably doing something that evening but who knows. I need to do laundry at some point.

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 30 May 2003 16:34 (twenty-two years ago)

I am going to finish up my craft projects tonight and tomorrow so I can sell them on Sunday. I think I have to price my books and CDs, too.

rosemary (rosemary), Friday, 30 May 2003 16:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Yancey, what's your brand?

Freakoid, what's your address? :)

Mary (Mary), Friday, 30 May 2003 17:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Camel Lights! If you get me a carton I will pay you big $$$ for it!!!

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Friday, 30 May 2003 17:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Maybe not a carton but a pack. I somehow can't see myself buying a carton of cigs.

Mary (Mary), Friday, 30 May 2003 17:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I understand. (i was actually kidding when i mentioned it) Thank you for considering it though!

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Friday, 30 May 2003 17:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Argh, my bf is making me go to see Four Tet and Manitoba with him on Sunday. That's a school night!

Carey (Carey), Friday, 30 May 2003 17:59 (twenty-two years ago)

You should be able to catch up on some sleep at the show!

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Friday, 30 May 2003 18:01 (twenty-two years ago)

I once fell asleep at an Amon Tobin show so anything is possible.

Carey (Carey), Friday, 30 May 2003 18:04 (twenty-two years ago)

I know you were joking, but I got a little excited about the prospect of buying a pack for under $7. Maybe I'll even go out to a smoking allowed bar.

Mary (Mary), Friday, 30 May 2003 18:05 (twenty-two years ago)

I once almost stayed awake at a Godspeed show, so yes, anything IS possible. (i ended up passing out tho)

Virginia r0X0rs!

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Friday, 30 May 2003 18:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Not much tomorrow, but a FAP on Sunday will be good.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Friday, 30 May 2003 18:49 (twenty-two years ago)

I once almost stayed awake at a Godspeed show, so yes, anything IS possible. (i ended up passing out tho)

I just went to sleep myself at an LA show of theirs, while standing about six feet away from the stage. I had no shame because they had no variety.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 30 May 2003 18:53 (twenty-two years ago)

This calls for a Virginia FAP. Everyone can stay at me + Sarah's apartment on our floor. Bring sleeping bags!

NA. (Nick A.), Friday, 30 May 2003 18:55 (twenty-two years ago)

This was here in NYC. The grrrl I was with started grading papers (she's a prof) in an alcove on the balcony. I fell asleep with my head on her lap. And then fucking Parker Posey sat in there with us. Weird night.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Friday, 30 May 2003 18:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I was actually thinking about going home to Chesapeake next weekend.

Carey (Carey), Friday, 30 May 2003 19:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Are you saying you want to sleep on our floor? We won't molest you too much...

NA. (Nick A.), Friday, 30 May 2003 19:05 (twenty-two years ago)

School is blessedly over in 25 minutes. After a quick shower at home I go to my restaurant job. The Boys Named Sue are supposed to play tonight but it may not happen. If it does I'll head straight over after work. If not I'll go home and crash.

Tomorrow, grades, grades, grades, work, drink, sleep.

Sunday, grades, grades, grades, oh, and grades.

That Girl (thatgirl), Friday, 30 May 2003 19:07 (twenty-two years ago)

After work today I'm gonna go work out, then have dinner and see A Mighty Wind with my friend. The rest of the weekend it's gonna be all about studying for the LSAT and figuring out how I can squeeze 5 or so more points onto my score. Whee.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Friday, 30 May 2003 19:15 (twenty-two years ago)

NA: where in VA do you and Sarah live?

Mary (Mary), Friday, 30 May 2003 19:19 (twenty-two years ago)

I will probably see a movie tonight, plus I have some work to do this weekend. (Hey, I had almost no paid employment this week.)

Mary: Will you be coming into DC this weekend? We could go to the Georgetown Lil' Thingamajigs.

j.lu (j.lu), Friday, 30 May 2003 19:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Pine.

oops (Oops), Friday, 30 May 2003 19:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Richmond.

NA. (Nick A.), Friday, 30 May 2003 19:23 (twenty-two years ago)

until two weeks ago...every day was like a weekend day.

now I am working on sunday. and staying in tonight because I'm too tired.

RJG (RJG), Friday, 30 May 2003 19:25 (twenty-two years ago)

It just started pouring, so there's my night ruined.

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 30 May 2003 19:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, it sucks out. I was gonna take a walk to pass some time... There went that plan!

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Friday, 30 May 2003 19:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I was gonna go smoke a cigarette! THANK YOU MOTHER NATURE, YOU ARE THE SUCK, BIG TIME.

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 30 May 2003 19:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I did it for you Ally, you smoke too much, so says I.

Mother Nature (nickalicious), Friday, 30 May 2003 19:40 (twenty-two years ago)

sat- work.
sun- work and (hopefully) FAP.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Friday, 30 May 2003 19:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I had a smoke anyway, and I gots soaked!

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Friday, 30 May 2003 19:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey j.lu: I am coming into the area, but my sister's in town from Cali for the weekend so think it will be an intensive family-bonding thing. If I could though, I'd love to go to the Japanese social club.

Mary (Mary), Friday, 30 May 2003 19:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Okay, I don't know how seriously these stores are social clubs in addition to retail outlets. But if you think you can make it, drop me an e-mail.

j.lu (j.lu), Friday, 30 May 2003 19:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Yanc3y, there you go ruining your primo expensive cigs.
I don't need to sleep on your floor. My parents still keep my room exactly the same, like I died too young or something.

Carey (Carey), Friday, 30 May 2003 20:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Cool, thanks j.lu. If not this time, next time...

Mary (Mary), Friday, 30 May 2003 20:39 (twenty-two years ago)

I went out last night and got drunk, in some ways having a job is cool because I feel that I righteously deserve to get absolutely wasted every weekend.

Ronan (Ronan), Saturday, 31 May 2003 09:16 (twenty-two years ago)

ha ha, guilt-free hedonism...must try that sometime...

stevem (blueski), Saturday, 31 May 2003 09:20 (twenty-two years ago)

its good. especially if its a sunny day.

Ronan (Ronan), Saturday, 31 May 2003 09:29 (twenty-two years ago)

How many different cities are FAPing June 1st? Seems like a few :)

Trayce (trayce), Saturday, 31 May 2003 12:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll be fapping on my own. I do this every weekend. Actually I forgot that there's a Ronnie Dawson benefit show for like 10 hours tomorrow that I will be attending. Top to bottom, non-stop, killer rockabilly and country acts for a good cause. I'll tip back a few Lone Stars for you lot.

That Girl (thatgirl), Saturday, 31 May 2003 17:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Ronnie Dawson! Is he still around? How old is he now? Action Packed is an absolutely MAGNIFICENT record!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 31 May 2003 18:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes he's still around but doing v. poorly Martin. After being told that his throat cancer was gone it reappeared in January and has since spread to his lungs. So this benefit is to raise money for him. He won't be there since he's too sick. He lives in my hood. He's 63 now.

That Girl (thatgirl), Saturday, 31 May 2003 18:37 (twenty-two years ago)

No plans. I had a date last night with a cool, smart and totally gorgeous guy which went well, but he's so busy he won't be free to hang out again for a week... drat. Go to the gym I guess. Walk around by myself. Listen to records.

Sean (Sean), Saturday, 31 May 2003 18:46 (twenty-two years ago)

aw, that's a shame about Ronnie.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 31 May 2003 18:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Listening to "Fever To Tell," watching Blow out and Georgia, getting some serious nappage, helping pack CDs into boxes.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Saturday, 31 May 2003 19:14 (twenty-two years ago)

To be really boring, mostly putting the finishing touches on the job of transferring my blog to Movable Type on a new server. (Old blog entries = hand-coded prior to April = insane amount of work.)

Let me know if it was worth it. Or you can just tell me the colour scheme's repulsive if you like. :)

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Saturday, 31 May 2003 20:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Last night: early drinking night with friends from work. Today: I went to Ikea ridiculously early in the morning, and then Pike Place market had peonies, so I bought a bouqet of those + some rhubarb jelly. yum. And tomorrow is yoga class, then I get to see cute surfer boy. At some point I have to finish writing some stuff for work- most likely it'll be 1 AM on Sunday or something stupid like that. :-(

lyra (lyra), Saturday, 31 May 2003 22:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Hello Christine.

Matt (Matt), Saturday, 31 May 2003 22:25 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm going to write some dissertation and meet rainy for coffee, listen to gillian welch, design a CD cover.

di smith (lucylurex), Saturday, 31 May 2003 22:50 (twenty-two years ago)

and be depressed about how i can't take the really great job i got offered.

di smith (lucylurex), Saturday, 31 May 2003 22:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Hi... why does ILE still think it's May 31st anyway?

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Saturday, 31 May 2003 22:52 (twenty-two years ago)

cos its a retard.

di smith (lucylurex), Saturday, 31 May 2003 22:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Today I will download more songs, make a mix on the computer.

Later on I think my parents are taking me out to dinner, Indian maybe, which is nice of them. After that I'm going to see Felix Da Housecat, who has cancelled on two occasions where I was meant to see him before. So I am dead excited about seeing him tonight and I really hope he turns up.

If not I will disown him.

Ronan (Ronan), Sunday, 1 June 2003 13:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Did he turn up?

I had guilt-free hedonism all weekend. It was great. I also found out we had a garden I didn't know about, which helped aid said guilt-free hedonism.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 2 June 2003 07:23 (twenty-two years ago)

its monday now, but we get today off to celebrate the queens birthday (cue sex pistols song), so really its still the weekend. i half-wrote a song which is gonna RULE and i read half of "have you checked the children" by wade ronald churton which is fast becoming one of my favourite books. ever. cementing my knee-jerk opinion that the only good rock writing ever has come out of new zealand. i didn't go out, there wasn't anything to go to.

di smith (lucylurex), Monday, 2 June 2003 09:11 (twenty-two years ago)

How come you guys get the day off? She's our fucking Queen.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 2 June 2003 09:51 (twenty-two years ago)

heheheh. you can have her, we'll keep the holiday, thanks.

di smith (lucylurex), Monday, 2 June 2003 09:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Felix turned up! I have the day off too cos it's a bank holiday.

I get paid for it, you might say sitting here downloading tunes is how I am earning my money today. 55 euro.

Felix was great, everything I hoped he'd be, started off with stuff like We In Music and Pet Shop Boys, then went really 80s, then later there was stuff like La Rock by Vitalic and We In Music-Now That The Love Has Gone. He also played that Linus Loves tune, which having heard in a club I can safely say is going to be huge.

I had a horrible experience afterwards though. But that's for another thread. Horrible in a tragicomic way.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 2 June 2003 09:57 (twenty-two years ago)

four months pass...
It's here again, yay! Drinks after work in town, then kitchen madness. if that doesnt work out fish & chips. Did i mention the red wine...? Tomorrow, mouching round a nearby market to find kill bill on dvd apparently! then go to the pub i suspect. sunday will be filled with lazyness & more red wine. oh & foot spas!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 17 October 2003 07:37 (twenty-two years ago)

oh woopy the weekend has arrived. more work. until nov the 20th it's work and no days off. ARHGHEGHEGEH
