should I go to Alaska (& what should I do there?)

My mom, her friend, and my little brother are driving to Alaska (with my little brother's boyscout troop, all probably jittery & hormone-rampant 16 and 17 year old dudes hailing from North Texas, but they'd be going in different vehicles!) in late July, and they invited me.. The young dudes would be going camping, and my mother and her friend and I would travel around for three weeks in early August. I think I'd be able to tolerate all that intensive time with my mom (and she's getting old and I don't see her much, so I feel like it'd be a fun opportunity..).

So, basically it comes down to: what does one do for three weeks in Alaska if one isn't a drug runner, prospector, or murderer? Are there enough strange and interesting things to justify my going? The Sayles movie Limbo is tainting my ideas of what one does in Alaska, but what would y'all suggest..
