the street shoot-out b/w the cops and the robbers in 'Heat'. i was seated in the front row for this and boy did that pack a visceral punch.

the knock-down-drag-em-out sequences from Aliens. few characters kick as much ass as Ripley demonstrated particularly by her rescue of newt.

the mad chase scene through the hall of doors in 'Monsters Inc.' as good as anything Lucas has excreted.

though bombastic, for sustained action it is hard to top the second half of 'Armageddon'.

so movie freaks nominate away........

The dragon sequence at the beginning of Jackie Chan's Young Master.
The fight under the train in Drunken Master two.

Just about any scene from Fist of Legend or Iron Monkey.

the opening ten minutes of 'Raiders...'

Chris Radford (Chris Radford), Saturday, 31 May 2003 01:29 (twenty-two years ago)

OK OK

well I'll meet the opening of raiders with the opening of temple of doom.

s1utsky (slutsky), Saturday, 31 May 2003 02:32 (twenty-two years ago)

and i'll trump that with Yoda v Dooku, the redeeming sequence of clones

the beach landing that opens 'saving ryan's privates'

and Eastwood finally being eastwood in the closing stages of 'unforgiven'

!!

Chris Radford (Chris Radford), Saturday, 31 May 2003 02:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I thought that Yoda vs. Dooku business was kinda boring. (I mean for one they were pretty much TRIPLE-TEAMING an old man!)

s1utsky (slutsky), Saturday, 31 May 2003 02:48 (twenty-two years ago)

you got no thrill at all from seeing Yoda move the way you knew he could? yoda's the man.

oh, when Jen wipes the floor of all-commers in that hotel in 'Crouching Tiger'

Chris Radford (Chris Radford), Saturday, 31 May 2003 02:55 (twenty-two years ago)

LA Confidential, man, that was such an '80s ending. When they all team up against the bad guys?

s1utsky (slutsky), Saturday, 31 May 2003 05:30 (twenty-two years ago)

80s ending or not it's still a cracker s1utsky!

the cracking sword fight bw Neeson and roth in 'rob roy'

battle mayhem in 'braveheart' particularly the first.

The hundred Agents Smiths from the Matrix Reloaded. Hataz need not apply.

The hospital finale from Hard Boiled.

Almost any fight from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, but particularly the first.

And any fight from Brotherhood of the Wolf.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 2 June 2003 17:03 (twenty-two years ago)

The beatdown on Busta Rhymes by Ray Liotta in Narc (a seriously good movie, btw).
