For the ILX comp volume two.

Not sure how we are going to distribute this one.

Send actual tapes/CDs to me. Send MP3's to Ned (let him know that you wanna send something, before you send it!)

RJG, are you still up for doing sleeves and whatnot?

Sorry, to have procrastinated so long with sending out stuff. It's been a bad winter.

Maximum song running time = 7 minutes (or there abouts), no minimum time. Covers, original songs, noise, serious, stupid, it's all good.

jel, "are we in this thing alone or are we in it together?"

Chupa-Cabras (vicc13), Saturday, 31 May 2003 12:12 (twenty-two years ago)

chupa, dude, I sent you an email! Lets collaborate!

I just set up a new site at IUMA, so in about 5 days I should have An Augmented Band's back catalogue available! Wahoo!

should i poney up something exclusive? or would a demo of something i'll probably re-record later be ok d'y think?

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Saturday, 31 May 2003 12:18 (twenty-two years ago)

How seriously musically is this thing? I mean I want to try my hand at fruityloops thats all but its been fnyears since I wrote any music, i think Ive forgotten how...

Trayce (trayce), Saturday, 31 May 2003 12:22 (twenty-two years ago)

I might send in my 'very' 'special' 'mashup' anonymously and see what sort of reaction it gets.

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Saturday, 31 May 2003 12:25 (twenty-two years ago)

two months pass...
~The deadline's gone, so how about a progress report please?

mei (mei), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 18:06 (twenty-two years ago)

DOH! How could I have missed this thread? NA and I have had a song ready for AGES. We tried to email it a few different times to Ned but it didn't work, so we've been meaning to snail mail it to you, jel. Please email me your address if we can still get it in.

Sarah McLUsky (coco), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 18:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh I forgot about the deadline too so don't worry about it people! :)

I shall email you an address Sarah McL.

I would say that the deadline is likely to be around the end of October now. ILX comps take time.

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 18:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Hm. I don't do music, really, but I had this one thing I did for kicks, and the only feedback I ever got on it was "it gave me a nightmare when I listened to it on a road trip." I should hold off for the ILX short story anthology, though.

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 19:10 (twenty-two years ago)

ILX short story anthology = a great idea!

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 20:06 (twenty-two years ago)

I didn't know! Can I still submit my "Succotash Wish" track?

dog latin (dog latin), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 22:01 (twenty-two years ago)

OMG I want to contribute to an ILX short story anthology. Hey Tep, weren't you saying something about short run publishing earlier?

Millar (Millar), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 22:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Actually, you know, CafePress does really cheap no-cost-to-you print-on-demand now, come to think of it. (I'm "self-publishing" my first novel, from back whenever, in a couple days, to tide friends & family over). ILXanthology would not be tough to swing.

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 22:03 (twenty-two years ago)

xp with Millar. Yeah, I think the info is clickable straight from CafePress's web page. The per-person price would be pretty reasonable if we stuck to CafePress's charge.

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 22:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Also I don't know if I'll have any new tracks ready by October. Car repair costs have made the purchase of a vocal rig and new computer for multitracking and mastering seem rather distant. I could submit some old 1998 shit though, not like anybody's heard it elsewhere.

Millar (Millar), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 22:05 (twenty-two years ago)

And I'd be up for it, as long as we have some time -- I shot my wad on Pop Songs, although there's one story I've done since which might come back unloved.

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 22:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Here's the CafePress info. It could be fun; I can report back whether I have any trouble with their system, in a couple days.

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 6 August 2003 00:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Is anything happening on this at all does anyone know anything about it excited excited excited?

mei (mei), Tuesday, 12 August 2003 14:59 (twenty-two years ago)

I've got two mp3s already from Chaki and Jay Vee -- anyone else, drop me a line (please do not actually SEND the mp3s except on weekends, though).

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 12 August 2003 15:08 (twenty-two years ago)

two weeks pass...
Did you get the mp3 I sent you a link ages to Ned?

mei (mei), Monday, 1 September 2003 10:43 (twenty-two years ago)

*thinks* I fear not! Plz. resend.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 1 September 2003 12:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Can you grap the MP3 from here please?
It's about 2.7 meg.
Ignore the song details embedded in the file, they're wrong and I can't easily change them.

http://www.meirion.lewis.btinternet.co.uk/glisten.mp3
It's electronic music.

Seem like there aren't many contributors yet.

If there's room left could I send you a track by mine and my friends' semi-parody metal band called Lesbian Cockfarmers of the Apocalypse?
None of the rest of the band post here though I did get the 'cockfarmers' part of the name from ILM :-)

mei (mei), Monday, 1 September 2003 14:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Downloading now, thanks!
