whilst travelling around thailand i encountered a couple of doozies.

that "they" add formaldeyde to Singha beer. whenever i order one of these now i think "mmmmmmmmmmm death preservative". it's a tasty beverage however.

that "The Beach" was a factual account of island hopping and "turning native" down south.

so what are some others?

I think I may have invented one once--I was in Poland and had just met a nice Australian couple, who I would end up hanging out with for a few days. I had just heard that the guy who inspired Crocodile Dundee (sorry, I can't remember his name) had died in a shootout with the police, and somehow I got a bit mixed-up and told the couple that Paul Hogan had just died in a shootout with the police. They were extremely shocked.
