Chris Radford (Chris Radford), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 02:51 (twenty-two years ago)

someone who waits until you've gone to bed (for sleep) to "talk about things"

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 03:00 (twenty-two years ago)

someone who wants a relationship.

di smith (lucylurex), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 03:04 (twenty-two years ago)

openly jealous types

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 03:07 (twenty-two years ago)

di = only partially OTM

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 03:07 (twenty-two years ago)

i was only partially serious.

di smith (lucylurex), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 03:10 (twenty-two years ago)

someone who wants an ego boost, not a true friend.

di smith (lucylurex), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 03:12 (twenty-two years ago)

actually i was entirely serious.

di smith (lucylurex), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 03:13 (twenty-two years ago)

actually in a lot of ways you're right - "high maintenance" and "partner" are often synonymous

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 03:17 (twenty-two years ago)

(in my experience)

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 03:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Men in general.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 03:18 (twenty-two years ago)

i suppose i'm curious because it's flung around like a cliche thesedays eg "she's soooooooooo high maintenance". is maintenance simply a function of a mutually loving and caring relationhip? cause i'm damn sure i've needed it from time to time.

Chris Radford (Chris Radford), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 03:24 (twenty-two years ago)

anyone who wants anything, ever

duane (hellbaby), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 03:31 (twenty-two years ago)

jeez listen to us

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 03:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Hahaha...I had a girlfriend who actually said to me one day (and this was totally unprovoked) "What have you done for me today?!". She was serious. People: this is a sign.

Ernest P. (ernestp), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 04:01 (twenty-two years ago)

If you feel holding each other up from time to time is a strain rather than something you want to do because you love a person, then fuck it, you dont deserve to have a partner at all. Get a cat, at least it wont care if you dont talk to it.

(bitter, moi? I shouldnt post things with a head full of panadiene forte urgh)

(btw I wasnt aiming this at anyone whos posted, its a generic "you")

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 04:06 (twenty-two years ago)

MY WIFE

Dan I. (Dan I.), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 04:09 (twenty-two years ago)

crikey trayce, you've really come out swingin'!

Chris Radford (Chris Radford), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 04:11 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm probably the wrong person to ask about this; my bfs have only been high-maintenance in the sense that they needed personal space and some time apart to do their creative/work shit etc, and I get sick of people quickly so I'm totally FINE with that, cool, whatever, call me when you're done. I would hate being with someone who was on my tits all the time.

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 06:06 (twenty-two years ago)

i've got a cat, it expects me to feed it all the time & stuff

duane (hellbaby), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 06:11 (twenty-two years ago)

get one of those auto-feeders: problem solved!

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 06:13 (twenty-two years ago)

just let it die: problem solved! and you don't have to waste money on a feeder.

oops (Oops), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 06:15 (twenty-two years ago)

poor kitty

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 06:17 (twenty-two years ago)

take #2 answer : someone who's all up in your stash

duane, Tuesday, 3 June 2003 06:27 (twenty-two years ago)

crikey trayce, you've really come out swingin'!

Ahhh Im sick, and I just had an unpleasant discussion with a friend. I'm not usually this cynical ... much...

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 06:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I know this! I know this!

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 06:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Trayce I agree! If you think supporting a partner means they're high maintenance, then you have a weird idea about relationships. (again the royal 'you'.) Surely it's all part of a 'normal' relationship that you help each other through rough times voluntarily, not through some sense of feeling that you have to & wish you didn't.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 09:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Anyone French

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 09:54 (twenty-two years ago)

relationships should be about all that reciprocated mutual stuff, but some people are just selfish.

di smith (lucylurex), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 10:17 (twenty-two years ago)

actually that looks xenophobic and horrible, looking at my last post, but have me reasons, honest! high maintenance just means they want more than you want to to give - all depends how much you really want ti be with the person in question... if you really love them you'll put up with a lot more, crucially without even noticing it, than from someone you don't... if you think soemone's high-maintenance then the chances are that they're not right for you, otherwise you'd just find those things quirky and endearing...

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 10:24 (twenty-two years ago)

quirky and endearing

like my typing!

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 10:26 (twenty-two years ago)

well, here's one alternative.

brian badword (badwords), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 10:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Do you sell body parts separately?

that is shocking!

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 10:32 (twenty-two years ago)
