How can I build up enthusiasm to study for an exam I have in 2 weeks? In fact, how can you build up enthusiasm for anything that you don't really want to do & will not change your life either way?

See, you guys can't even muster up the enthusiasm to post anything!!

*flops hand listlessly onto keyboard; yawns*

Archel (Archel), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 13:20 (twenty-two years ago)

*sigh*

Would nothing bad happen if you failed the exam?

Archel (Archel), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 13:34 (twenty-two years ago)

schedule something fantastic for the evening?

Chris Radford (Chris Radford), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 13:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Nothing bad at all. Although it's job related, it will not affect things. I paid for it, but that's where my interest ends. :-(

I'm no help. I can't even muster enthusiasm for things I like let alone things I dislike. It's all too much trouble nowadays.

my position: the exam is not tomorrow => I don't need to start revising yet.

I have exams in two weeks too. A Levels. I can't seem to bring myself to actually learn anything -- its just too *hot*. Today I got up, fully intending to revise all day, then decided I couldn't possibly do anything without felt tip crayons, went out to get felt tip crayons, came home and wrote a few French words on a piece of paper in felt tip crayons, then fell asleep. Now I'm writing this. Damnit, I hate being so lazy.

I just checked the weather in the UK because our former colonial overlords have been complaining recently about the heat. Is 71F really considered hot or are you in Australia or something?

lawrence kansas (lawrence kansas), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 17:19 (twenty-two years ago)

It was like 85 on the weekend! Today it is muggy and generally horrible.

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 17:45 (twenty-two years ago)

85 is a totally different head. I was like how did you chaps beat the Desert Fox when you're complaining about 71 degree heat and then I was going to launch into a tirade about how the younger generation doesn't understand sacrifice etc.

"Beating the Desert Fox" is a nice little euphemism isnt it?

lawrence kansas (lawrence kansas), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 17:59 (twenty-two years ago)

I have no idea what the temperature is, but it's probably pitifully low by most people's standards. I'm not only English, but pale and ginger and a weakling too, so what was probably a mediumly warm English summer day seemed like an Indian-scale heatwave to me.
I quite like the thought of being a former colonial overlord.
So, what's this Desert Fox we've been beating?

Cathy, Tuesday, 3 June 2003 19:56 (twenty-two years ago)

ahem, modesty forbids me to explain my tawdry euphemism.

lawrence kansas (lawrence kansas), Tuesday, 3 June 2003 20:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh. Don't I feel foolish...
