RFI: Summer Projects

So this is the last week of school (yes!) and I have a variety of craft projects lined up to occupy my time. Couple of questions:

-Does anyone have any experience with casting resin?
-Any ideas on where to get plain wooden, hinged boxes (suitable for handbags)?
