Kansai - What to do there?

I'll be in the Kansai area of Japan for about a month starting thursday. Does anyone have any advce of things to do. I'll be in Tokyo for a little a while too, but I can check the other thread.

Where will you be? Obv. go to Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Himeji Castle, Hiroshima... What will you be doing there? The trains are so great you can really go anywhere...

seiichi yamamoto's new band "seiichi yamamoto" is based out of kansai and may still be touring the clubs as they were last month. they played 2 songs in his hour long set opening for jaki leibezeit, including a 40-minute version of his song "mantral" (massacred by OoioO on their Gold And Green/Green And Gold record).
