For me, real news has become, "Roxy Music's announced some tour dates!" And damn it, the five dates they've played have been nowhere near me. Hmph. Guess I'll just have to wait for more dates.

I'm sure every other speccy unhealthy kid nationwide enjoyed that one as well.

This was good news for me, then I saw the ticket prices. They're playing in the city I live in, right over at the OC fairgrounds, and with service charges I would still be paying almost $60 per ticket, and those would be the cheap seats -- anywhere else would be over $90. It would be the same case with Duran Duran. Frankly, no.

Oh man. You are living in what I'd consider to be this summer's concert paradise!!!
*sighs* Oh well. I'm going to have to wait to see any Duran Vegas dates. They pretty much always hit Vegas. With a little luck, they'll be at the MGM Grand this time, and I can have an actual seat this time rather than the "general admission" "seating" I had the last few times I went to see them. And maybe with a little more luck, Roxy Music will play Vegas shortly thereafter. I will faint if that happens.
*sighs again*

Trust me, I still fly the flag for both Duran and Roxy and then some. Both great bands, Duran was essentially the soundtrack for middle school for me and Roxy is, well, Roxy. But I have to draw the line -- I've seen three day festivals with about forty bands or so for cheaper than the individual tickets being sold here. A friend of mine here in CM (she's actually just a block or two over from where I live) was a huge and hardcore Duran fanatic when she was growing up, far more than I (over the last few years she's made quite a bundle selling off slews of DD memorabilia from the megastar days). She saw the prices and decided against. I would have been willing to shell out at $30, $40, maybe even a smidgen higher. But the prices they're asking, no, no, and no again. If some sort of cheaper seats turn up on the day itself or whatever, bring it on, but otherwise, fuck it. Hell, it costs only $7 to attend on the day itself for both shows, I could just go and hear the darn shows for that, or even less -- it's an open air venue, and you can pretty much hear it from a few blocks around anyway.
