Was there some mass migration at one point from Joisey to the South Side of Chicago? "Yous" is common around here as well. I wonder if the Italians did it. All the people I know who say it now are Polish and Croation, though.

someone suggested to me the other day that we should legitimize "yous" as the plural form of you, but i said that i think 'you' as both pl and singular works well in situations where politician etc is addressing a large audience and wants to create a sense of community pride/joy/fear coupled with an imposition/celebration of individual responsibility, agency.
