I love comics? I hate comics?

Anyone feel that such a board would be a worthwhile addition to the lurvely ILXor family? Or would it be a waste of much-needed electrons?

Yer thoughts, please.

i really don't like the idea of further segmenting ile. What's next? ILSports? ILLaw & Order? Add categories, not boards.

You know, I don't think it'd be that much of a segregation, given the minority of folks on here that are willing to babble about comics, though I can understand the "make categories, not boards" philosophy. I've a question for any of you server maintaining folk, in case you happen to stumble by - does it affect load time & accessibility et al if another board is made in lieu of just making more ILE threads & categories?

As always, the strongest argument to making a new board is to allow Googlers new to the site (& those interested in the topic) an easy way to access the threads - I had a devil of a time this afternoon trying to access a category; might've been a server fart - but again my load time et al question again comes into play.

Every thread on ILX will see that thread before the madness ends, mark my words! (I'm not complaining though)

Dan I. (Dan I.), Thursday, 12 June 2003 05:29 (twenty-two years ago)

ha, I mean every thread will see that picture, of course.

Would MUCH rather not separate it off into a board of its own.

I don't really see the point of an I-Love-Comics subboard.

and I love comics.

DV (dirtyvicar), Thursday, 12 June 2003 14:23 (twenty-two years ago)

I Love Comics, and yeah, lets just talk about comics here!

Geez, Nate, you're looking a li'l green around the pecs. I'd get that checked out.

I'm also against splitting it off, for exactly the same reasons as when I Love Film was mooted. I visit ILF pretty much every day, but I know I'd read more of it if it was still part of ILE. I've never felt at all inhibited from talking about comics here.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 12 June 2003 16:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Funny -- I was a huge proponent of ILF when it was first created, but now I hardly read it anymore. So I guess I'm beginning to see the rationale for keeping things integrated. (At the time, I also said that Film might well be the only topic besides music that deserved its own board -- even tho I do like comix, too.)
