Did you only go to Kylerhea? Because I think that's the only populated area on Skye that's east of Sennen or Land's End. Kyleakin is 5deg44min W, which is beyond England's reach.

MarkH (MarkH), Friday, 13 June 2003 20:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey Ailsa, I was in Inverness because my old girlfriend's family lived in Nairn, so there ya go. ;-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 13 June 2003 20:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Was she from Nairn? Or were her family golf-course or caravan-park fetishists? (I can't think of any other reason why anyone would want to live in Nairn)

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 13 June 2003 21:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Heh. Her dad worked in the oil industry and was assigned to various spots -- they lived down in Dundee for a while, also over near...argh, can't remember the name exactly, somewhere a little to the north of the main Edinburgh-Glasgow conduit, nearer to Edinburgh. But I believe both of her parents were originally from the Inverness area in any event -- they originally lived in a house pretty much on the Firth but then moved over to a REALLY nice place a couple of blocks inland.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 13 June 2003 21:11 (twenty-two years ago)

My answers for S and W were on the same trip. I was visiting a friend who lived in a little village called Lezant, not far from the border of Devon and Cornwall.

Mine for the last couple of years would be much like Jel's. I've not left London in over two years.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 14 June 2003 10:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Martin, that's the most depressing thing I've heard in ages.

Tag (Tag), Saturday, 14 June 2003 16:13 (twenty-two years ago)

There is no wall of fire around the M25. I was begining to think there was, but I went to Cambridge on Thursday and all was fine. (It was lovely actually).

S - Land's End
E - Ramsgate
W - Land's End again.

Anna (Anna), Saturday, 14 June 2003 16:35 (twenty-two years ago)

For me, it's one of the non-depressing parts of my life, over the last couple of years! I like London. I am thinking that I might need to make the trek to St Ives and/or the Yorkshire Sculpture Park to see the Barbara Hepworth shows.
