so, when i went to check the balance on my checking & savings accounts today at the atm, it told me that i had negative $13.46 in my checking (when i should have had at least, 154.85) and $353.43 in my savings (when i should have at least $554.43). this last part is important, becuz of, y'know, rent. so nancy and i check online, and find out that not just the one ticket she had booked through priceline to tulsa had gone through but ANOTHER that she tried to book through hotline, it wouldn't accept her card, and when she called the rep on saturday he told her to "try on monday." ARRRRGGH FUCK FUCKFHH!@#@#!#. now hotline is giving us the runaround saying "no refunds" and the bank is trying to look into but saying it could take a while to sort it out. FUb2nb1!@#$@@!!!!!

oops (Oops), Monday, 16 June 2003 19:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Jess, haven't you got tons of unwanted discs you can sell for rent money?

Andrew L (Andrew L), Monday, 16 June 2003 19:18 (twenty-two years ago)

no no fuck that

I think you're going to have to yell and scream your way up the csr ladder at Hotline until they give you your money back.

g--ff c-nn-n (gcannon), Monday, 16 June 2003 19:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Woah :(

Is there anyway you can sell one of the tickets for cash or what have ya?

apart from that, what opps said.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 16 June 2003 19:20 (twenty-two years ago)

ha they are all scratched up! i am bad. :(

side note: i wonder how many threads there are with variations on "arrgh"

i wonder how many i started.

yeah, i think g--ff is probably right. i'd have no problem with this. in fact, i would enjoy it. unfortunately the ticket is nancy's name, so i'm not sure if she'll have to do the screaming or not.

jess (dubplatestyle), Monday, 16 June 2003 19:21 (twenty-two years ago)

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 16 June 2003 19:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Do you think your landlord(s) might grant you a little extension considering the circumstances?

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 16 June 2003 19:27 (twenty-two years ago)

haha i'm glad you said it cos if I did I'd have the proverbial new asshole by now surely. anyway best of luck, don't take to shit etc

g--ff c-nn-n (gcannon), Monday, 16 June 2003 19:27 (twenty-two years ago)

to = no although it's still good advice I guess.

g--ff c-nn-n (gcannon), Monday, 16 June 2003 19:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Any luck, Jess? Is it possible to borrow the cash you need from a friend or someone?

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Monday, 16 June 2003 19:33 (twenty-two years ago)

A circuit breaker got tripped and the computers in our office just went out and I lost an hour's worth of work (and the annoying co-worker is being especially verbose).... I thought it fit in with the general ARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHness of this thread.

Sorry Jess. That sucks.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Monday, 16 June 2003 19:33 (twenty-two years ago)

As nickalicious said, is it really going to be possible/worthwhile for him to immediately evict you, given the circumstances?

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 16 June 2003 19:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Jess, you've got to get on the phone screaming and yelling--regardless of whether or not the ticket is in her name, it seems the bank account isn't just in her name, so you have every right to this.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 16 June 2003 19:37 (twenty-two years ago)

so it turned out (once the bank finally got off their asses and actually checked) that the hotwire charges were just "pending" (i guess meaning they don't process transactions over the weekend or they needed some sort of nominal verification...of course, if we didn't say anything they were going to let them go through, more than likely), which meant that they could indeed be canceled and all the money was returned to its rightful place. jesus what a stressful couple of hours tho.
