H (Heruy), Thursday, 19 June 2003 08:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Mmmmm cold booze.

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Thursday, 19 June 2003 09:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm drinking my third glass of red wine....I'll fall asleep in half an hour I think but it's great.....classic summer booze habit: gin tonic, 7:30 p.m. on the beach....

francesco, Thursday, 19 June 2003 09:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Mmmmm booze

RickyT (RickyT), Thursday, 19 June 2003 09:50 (twenty-two years ago)

H (Heruy), Thursday, 19 June 2003 10:14 (twenty-two years ago)

You're confusing it with Stone Cold Perry (photoshop to thread).

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 19 June 2003 10:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Its evil scum juice what evil scum will be drinking while some of us who would like to be evil scum can't.

(Sorry, I'm trying to get ofver it, honest).

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 19 June 2003 10:15 (twenty-two years ago)

mmmmmmmmmm, Wheat beer, Cherry beer and more locally, Raspberry bear.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 19 June 2003 12:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Warm weather = margaritas and sangria!

Nicole (Nicole), Thursday, 19 June 2003 12:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Classic, only if it's not too much red wine or champagne tho!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 19 June 2003 12:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Cold beer + patio & grill x Low End Theory = SUUUUUUUMMMMMMEEEEEERRRRRR!!!!!!!!!

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 19 June 2003 12:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Mojito and margaritas help to make the season shaded.

Chris P (Chris P), Thursday, 19 June 2003 13:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, fruity frozen drinks all around! (*sigh, but it's still raining*)

Sarah Mclusky (coco), Thursday, 19 June 2003 15:47 (twenty-two years ago)

more maybe, at least in terms of going out every night

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 19 June 2003 15:53 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't drink less alcohol in summer, but I do tend to go nuts with my blender. Granitas, smoothies, frozen margaritas... bourgie, yes, but ice is nice.

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 19 June 2003 15:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Summer madness = Mojito mania, baby.

Colin Meeder (Mert), Thursday, 19 June 2003 15:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Beer. Cold lager.

Bryan (Bryan), Thursday, 19 June 2003 16:03 (twenty-two years ago)

in this latitude, drinking cold beverages makes you sweeeeeaaattttt like a pig.
but, one can't help taking the risk, of course: i like beers in the morning, gin tonic in the evening.

joan vich (joan vich), Thursday, 19 June 2003 16:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Warm weather = margaritas and sangria!

And people wonder why I live here. ;-) Margaritas in January = so right.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 19 June 2003 16:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I drink tea whenever.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 19 June 2003 16:43 (twenty-two years ago)

And people wonder why I live here. ;-)

Well, you miss out on all of the wonderful cold weather drinks.

Nicole (Nicole), Thursday, 19 June 2003 16:45 (twenty-two years ago)

makes it extra hard to stay hydrated = worse hangovers :(

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Thursday, 19 June 2003 17:09 (twenty-two years ago)

in this latitude, drinking cold beverages makes you sweeeeeaaattttt like a pig.

In this latitude I sweat like a pig no matter what I drink. Therefore moderate doses of alcohol to smooth over my annoyance at this condition is urgent and key.

j.lu (j.lu), Thursday, 19 June 2003 17:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Cold ass winter, unstable autumn, rain-drenched spring, these are all seasons when the excellent Mex restaurant within walking distance of my home with the 2-for-1 specials on ginormous amazing margaritas goes unappreciated. Summer, their patio, you will find me, mue caliente be damned!

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 19 June 2003 17:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, you miss out on all of the wonderful cold weather drinks.

Nonsense. You just need to go to a place with lots of a.c.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 19 June 2003 18:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Can't drink booze til the sun goes down. Damn unfortunate, as there are times I'm dying for it: while walking 4 miles to the semi-local library, for instance.

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Thursday, 19 June 2003 18:35 (twenty-two years ago)

a.c. as in air con I assume?

I bought my cheapest round ever on Sunday...two pints of water and a pint of blackcurrant and soda. The barman didn't charge me for the water and the blackcurrant and soda was just 40p! That's what inspired this thread, at least in part. Y'see, by the time I'd bought this round i's already had four pints of bitter. I don't drink lager, except in clubs sometimes when there's no alternative and I don't drink spirits very often. Yet I know that ale is a winter drink. I'm not saying my drinking habits make sense.

MarkH (MarkH), Thursday, 19 June 2003 18:35 (twenty-two years ago)

a.c. as in air con I assume?

Yes'm.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 19 June 2003 18:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm not saying my drinking habits make sense.

As long as you can stand up straight afterward, who says it has to?

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Thursday, 19 June 2003 18:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Ice-cold beer
Sun-tea
Iced-tea
Mint Juleps
Ice water with fresh lemon juice

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Thursday, 19 June 2003 23:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Ladies and gentlemen... The Tiki Ti. The most U & K summer drinks in all of Los Angeles.

Chris Barrus (Chris Barrus), Friday, 20 June 2003 20:54 (twenty-two years ago)

I feel horribly like a straitlaced Puritain now.

One of you lovelies will have to educate me in the ways of the potent potable. Up until now, I've been perfectly happy with raspas (i.e. snow cones) and lemonade. And iced tea. And sodas. And water.

Those blender drinks sound quite nice, really, like grown-up versions of raspas. I love raspas. If you can find me a grape-flavored blender drink (or at least the recipe for one), I will have my own Favorite Boozed-Up Drink.

Innocent Dreamer (Dee the Lurker), Friday, 20 June 2003 22:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Grape Kool-Aid - crushed ice - Everclear

First-ever "adult" drink I had. Close to the last.

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Saturday, 21 June 2003 01:46 (twenty-two years ago)

It's hot as a fuck here in Winnipeg and I'm pounding back CC and Cokes. Someone PLEASE shoot me in the head.

Bryan (Bryan), Saturday, 21 June 2003 01:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Actually that sounds fucking great, Bryan. It's very mild here right now and all I have is a few cans of Miller in the fridge.

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Saturday, 21 June 2003 01:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Shooting me in the head sounds great? GET UP HERE THEN!

Bryan (Bryan), Saturday, 21 June 2003 01:57 (twenty-two years ago)

one month passes...
i had a couple beers out last night, and i didnt really enjoy them, think it might have been the heat, i got a headache really early on

gareth (gareth), Tuesday, 12 August 2003 13:48 (twenty-two years ago)

it's really easy to get a headache when it's hot & you are drinking really cold drinks. that said, sangria rocks in the heat. we spent sat afternoon eating far too much tapas & drinking sangria. it's much more refreshing than cold beer!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 12 August 2003 13:51 (twenty-two years ago)

one year passes...
i'm celebrating the start of arizona's monsoon season with a six-pack of COLD pacifico!

chief of chaff (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 8 July 2005 00:13 (twenty years ago)

i think in general drinks taste better in the heat. cocktails especially. mojitos, mint juleps, tom collins, ginintonix, whiskey iced teas....
