I was trying to think of what I read in this domain and.. um.. Vice. There's something kind of sweet underlying some of their most obnoxious comments, often. Not always. So I read Vice, and Elle, and the Atlantic these days, and Vogue.

I have some French magazines sitting around here that may or may not be worth looking at for your media room. I agree that the Tate magazine is good stuff.

Also: Nova (awfully Paris-centric, but I did enjoy it, and it's cheap too), Simulacres (film, but prob is only published once a year?), Magazine littéraire (classic), Jalouse, and Technikart (I mostly dislike this magazine but if you're putting together a selection of hip design/fashion/art/lifestyle journals it ought to fit right in).
What about Purple, is that still around? What about Cheap Date?

OH, and you know what is really awesome?! Revue d'art pratique! It's in both French and English. Trouble is, I don't know if it would work well for a media room b/c it's full of do-it-yourself art projects and games and stuff. I picked up a couple copies at some literary salon week thing, and it just makes me happy.

A-ha. A contact address at least: Revue d'art pratique. I don't know if they're still publishing or what.

daria_Magazine littéraire (classic)...true I was especially enthusiastic about their Celine special issue.

francesco, Monday, 23 June 2003 05:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey Mark, my girl buys Crafts and I like it.

Nathan W (Nathan Webb), Thursday, 26 June 2003 11:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Hm, I haven't read that one! I should really try again to read Celine now that my French is [mostly] up to the task. Looks like I have myself a copy of a special issue: “ La mélancolie ”. No doubt purchased off a newsstand somewhere near Ave Parmentier on yet another one of those gloomy, rainy days that lasted from October through early July.. :)
