so utterly depressing. It makes me want to play in traffic, moreso than even Requiem For A Dream, which was depressing in a very different way.

So I guess this is the thread where we can talk about really, really incredibly sad movies you have seen recently?

Capturing the Friedmans is pretty sad. Lilya 4-ever too, of course. Lots of sad movies out there. My wife refuses to see sad movies, but she likes me to go to them and then tell her what happens in them. She's OK with vicarious sadness, I guess.

The Brown Bunny is going to get distribution based on its negative word of mouth, I hear. It would be funny if they put Ebert quotes on the front of the box.

anything with 10 minute real oral sex works for me. although vincent gallo is a bit of a turnoff.

oh and saddest, sweetest movie ever, 30 years old but still great - "mccabe and mrs miller"
