God gets mad. Spock sacrifices himself for the greater good.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Monday, 23 June 2003 15:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Kinski goes stark raving mad in the jungle. brace yourself for an intense experience.

Chris Radford (Chris Radford), Monday, 23 June 2003 15:20 (twenty-two years ago)

I love the story of Herzog's Peruvian Indian guides offering to kill Kinski to save the rest of them.

it's a bit of a bore. ok though. better than "apocalypse now" as a "going crazy in the jungle movie"

Imagine a blonde Jaz Coleman on spinning raft on the Amazon peppered with a nation of spider monkeys.

Jaz Coleman? You mean the musician who ran off to Iceland thinking that the world would end?

See it. Now. An intense movie with a wonderful organic feel to it.

Christine 'Green Leafy Dragon' Indigo (cindigo), Monday, 23 June 2003 22:01 (twenty-two years ago)

nobody's good except Kinski. But I think that was the idea.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Monday, 23 June 2003 22:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Yay! OK - I will then...

N. Ron, Monday, 23 June 2003 22:18 (twenty-two years ago)

It's Herzog-ish; if you know what that means, then you probably know if you'll like it or not. Otherwise, might as well give it a shot.

Still not sure? Here's Ebert's essay on it (which may have spoilers, as unimportant as that would be for this movie):
