I always had a suspicious feeling that Momus is much the twat and this interview certainly confirms it. His ill-informed assertions to the contrary, his "cute fascism" twaddle is living proof that he is, in fact, the eptitome of the (Ugly) Orientalist. I suppose I shouldn't get worked up over an indulged, aging wannabe pop star's skewed PoMo POV and pseudo-intellectual "insights", but this whole thing really pissed me off.

If it makes him feel any better, however, his intellectualizing is about as good as his music is. And as interesting.
