anyone know an efficient way to get wax out the carpet?

Had a few mates round last night and in the process a wax candle got knocked over onto the floor. Need to get it sorted by Tuesday before my dad gets home. Picking at it just makes it more visible - any suggestions?

Get some brown paper - paper bags, or parcel wrapping paper - and fold it into a wad about three or four layers thick. Place this over the candle wax and then iron the paper with a warm iron (not too hot, you don't want to leave iron burn marks on the carpet as well!!).

The wax melts and gets soaked up into the brown paper (which must have more absorbent qualities than other paper or something, because it doesn't seem to work with other types of paper)

Good luck!

You need a sheet or two of newspaper and a steam iron.

Plug the iron in as near as you can (cordless helps, obv.) and heat it up. Put a layer or two of newspaper over the wax, and iron the fucker. The heat melts the wax and the newspaper absorbs it. I've never doen this on a carpet, but I've done it to get candlewax out of clothes before and it works.
