'I have been quite a looker in my time'
'I may look like an upperclass bird, but I can take care of myself. I could kill someone with these 2 fingers'
My god, get the geezer bird out. There is something to be said for keeping irritating people in the house for your viewing pleasure, but if she stays I can no longer watch BB. So there!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 7 July 2003 11:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Is it a coincidence she picked a dog? I think not!!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 7 July 2003 11:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Here she is in all her glory
http://www.channel4.com/film/media/film/1m/S/star_wars_md_03.jpg
heh heh, ahem!
http://bigbrother.channel4.com/bigbrother/media/news/45/45_feature_lisa_h_t.jpg
showing Cameron how big her nose was before the op! (allegedly)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 7 July 2003 11:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh god yes she must go. Although the murderous/paranoid instincts brought out in the rest of the housemates are quite funny... Cameron: 'I might stick my thumb overr herrr windpipe myself soon'.

Archel (Archel), Monday, 7 July 2003 11:21 (twenty-two years ago)

'Och, I shouldnae said anything but Ah cannae help masel!'

Gawd she's so obviously trying to Do A Number on the other housemates.

Just spent the morning on the phone with a friend, born and raised in Southall, who is pals with Gos' little brother the fashioniste. Apparently the three Gosul family boys are a real mixed bunch.

suzy (suzy), Monday, 7 July 2003 11:24 (twenty-two years ago)

(Hi Archel - I hope you're feeling better!)
Yep, classic! Steph's reaction to her sleepwalking was great. However, was she actually sleepwalking or not? I mean, what a great way to freak someone out!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 7 July 2003 11:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Really? Come on dish the dirt Suzy!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 7 July 2003 11:28 (twenty-two years ago)

check for another face under her hair at the back!! < / just finished first h.potter book >

mark s (mark s), Monday, 7 July 2003 11:32 (twenty-two years ago)

No biggie, PP: my friend was just laughing about nobody in the BB house understanding the Asian thing of 'you will share room with sibling until marriage or death, whichever comes first' 'cos Gos shares room with his little bro, who is her friend. The little bro does not play w/ the girls' team and the family (erm, PARENTS) have no idea. She also reckoned G's g/f was Hindu (apparently a no-no in Sikh terms, the only worse thing is bringing a 'muzzie' home to meet the folks). But they may be more secularised Sikhs than my pal's family are (basically if you stop attending the Gurdwara and cut your hair AT ALL you are more secular than her lot).

I love the British reticence that dictates no matter how cross they get with other housemates, nobody YELLS. If anyone had interrupted my sleep inna Lisa stylee, I'd have thrown a solid object at their head.

suzy (suzy), Monday, 7 July 2003 11:36 (twenty-two years ago)

V interesting, cheers Suzy!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 7 July 2003 11:42 (twenty-two years ago)

i tell you if she had woke me up like she did steph then she would have needed those two fingers to keep her alive because i would have flipped out ninja style

james (james), Monday, 7 July 2003 11:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Speaking of Gos, he didn't seem very pleased to see his g/f, he was more interested in Davina!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 7 July 2003 11:47 (twenty-two years ago)

If it was real sleepwalking then surely throwing objects at her head would be unfair and dangerous? I'm backing Britain.

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 7 July 2003 11:49 (twenty-two years ago)

i meant when she turned on the lights to the room - ooooh BAD

james (james), Monday, 7 July 2003 11:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh yeah def, How inconsiderate to just plunge the lights on when someone is asleep in the room.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 7 July 2003 11:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Well if we follow Suzy's line above, the interaction be Gos's parent and his g/f may have been minimal previous to this. It could all add up to "trouble at home".

I would imagine Gos's family to be pretty secular, he was scmoozing, bouzing and jacuzzi usin'.

Pete (Pete), Monday, 7 July 2003 11:53 (twenty-two years ago)

He's a Hindu though, isn't he?

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 7 July 2003 11:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Actually I have no idea if he is from Hindu, Muslim or Sikh background - I was just making assumptions from the boozing and lack of parental disapprobation. Ignore me.

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 7 July 2003 11:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Gos' first name is Hersender so he's 20 stones of pure Sikh; his brother's real name is Marvinder. As to drinking, my friend calls JD and Coke 'Punjabi Juice' or 'Wedding Fuel'. Devout Sikhs are not meant to drink but most I know do.

Yeah, Lisa appears to be gunning for Steph (btw steph = louise wener + disney chipmunk), doing annoying/sleep-depriving things to her ALL THE TIME while trying to keep Nush sweet by flattering her and then telling others in the house that Nush is a naif.

Can't help thinking that Tania would've sussed Lisa using her Fancy London Ways purely because of the way she stonewalled Davina in her interview. I've been in a lot of interview situations where someone very famous is talking at you with content-free answers to your questions and there's very little you can do about it, but was glad to see someone totally hang Davina out to dry when I least expected it.

suzy (suzy), Monday, 7 July 2003 12:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Why?! What's Davina done to deserve crappy stonewalling?

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 7 July 2003 12:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Being crappy?

Pete (Pete), Monday, 7 July 2003 12:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I think Davina is great. But anyway, what about the great British public? Don't they deserve a decent interview? Fancy Tania must go!

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 7 July 2003 12:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, she gives hope to door hags everywhere, right?

suzy (suzy), Monday, 7 July 2003 13:00 (twenty-two years ago)

'well you can't buy being streetwise!'

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 7 July 2003 13:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Hein? Was that about Tania?

Anyway Tania made me laugh only because she reminds me of a friend's little sister, a bling-bling guest-list West End Girl who gets chased around by wealthy men twice her age - ew ew ew Tim Jeffries - and laughs about it at dinners with same-age Premiership footballers who are just good mates she met clubbing. Compared to her, Tania's a plebbo. I haven't had a chance to ask her if she knows Tania from 'around' but it's a good bet, as is the character assassination for being basically on the wrong side of the velvet ropes.

suzy (suzy), Monday, 7 July 2003 13:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Lisa's speech about Nush's naivety was appalling on many levels - she said something like "She'll get crapped on from all directions, in every sense of the word," which is just disgusting.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 7 July 2003 18:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, that is disgusting. Is Lisa threatening to literally shit on Nush herself?

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 7 July 2003 18:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Ray has nominated Cam, Lisa and Steph. Lisa will go.

Alan (Alan), Tuesday, 8 July 2003 11:16 (twenty-two years ago)

she better since cam and steph are ubergodZorZ of edenic proportions

mark s (mark s), Tuesday, 8 July 2003 11:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Hm, I thought as much. *rubs predictive hands together in anticipation*

Archel (Archel), Tuesday, 8 July 2003 11:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Funny = Ray telling the veteran housemates that since there was total transparency over his nominations he might as well talk about it frankly, then getting a bollocking.

suzy (suzy), Tuesday, 8 July 2003 11:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Nick, I thought we had the same taste in women? Davina is an overbearing harpy, yuk on every level.

Mark S - it's boggling to think of that great mind working at top speed on BB but then deciding Cameron is a good thing. [shakes head sadly]

Mark C (Mark C), Tuesday, 8 July 2003 12:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Mark, I think we have diverged in recent years.

Davina is an excellent TV presenter, who is perfectly at ease on camera and, crucially for her Big Brother role, adept at relating to people of many types.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 8 July 2003 12:29 (twenty-two years ago)

yes, Davina is a great presenter.

Now, if you'd slagged off that Merrion tosser I'd have been right behind you.

chris (chris), Tuesday, 8 July 2003 12:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Even I agree with this thread. I even agree with specific comments on it. I saw the programme the other day. The woman in question was unbelievably obnoxious.

On Davina McCall I am with the Kaiser not N. Her snide character on this programme is repeatedly horrid.

the pinefox, Tuesday, 8 July 2003 13:13 (twenty-two years ago)

WHy they didn't give the gig to that lovely Dermot character two years ago I don't know. He is naturally funny and genuinely interested in people.

That pop show he does is rubbish mind.

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 8 July 2003 13:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, it seems to me that Davina has been nothing but nice to all the housemates. But then, maybe I am just blinded by my admiration for her jogging through the studio while hugely pregnant and still looking a pro. I like Dermot too.

Archel (Archel), Tuesday, 8 July 2003 13:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Dermot has been ace on little brother, I'll campaign to get him knighted if he lamps Merrion tonight.

chris (chris), Tuesday, 8 July 2003 13:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Avid Merrion makes me laugh.

Lisa Tarbuck has no place on BB though.

Mooro (Mooro), Tuesday, 8 July 2003 14:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Mooro, you can't see the tears on my keyboard as another of my heroes lose their golden haloes of goodness.

thanks for the photos by the way, much appreciated.

chris (chris), Tuesday, 8 July 2003 14:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Aaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Get this fucking dumb 'i am such a strong woman' outta there! She is doing my head in!! She has so gotta go!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 11 July 2003 09:48 (twenty-two years ago)

haha even private eye basically said "lisa must go" — albeit coded in their usual "all non-public-school so-called culture is stupid" terms

mark s (mark s), Friday, 11 July 2003 09:54 (twenty-two years ago)

All that crap last nite about how she was so upset by what they were saying! They didnt say anything to her, she was going on about how they she wasnt being treated like one of them. Why the f@#k should they, you've only been there 5 minutes & you keep threatening to kill people with your 2 fingers!! Jeez! 'a wolf in sheeps clothing' i dont think so! run to bb with your lil paranoid rantings eh you stoopid, stoopid, stoopid she-man!!!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 11 July 2003 10:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Apparently the bookies are already paying out (publicity stunt, I guess). People r dumm. Lisa is great TV. I'm with Moyles.

She actually said the others were "sheep in wolves' clothing", but I don't know if this was in error.

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 11 July 2003 10:06 (twenty-two years ago)

She def did say that she was a wolf in sheeps clothing, cos I have it written all over my house & I continually stab it with a fork!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 11 July 2003 10:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Mutton dressed as lamb would have been more accurate.

Richard Jones (scarne), Friday, 11 July 2003 10:08 (twenty-two years ago)

She is a dog in dogs clothing (and make-up) obv.

"I'm with Moyles" this needs to be on a T-shirt and mailed to Glasgow NOW.

Pete (Pete), Friday, 11 July 2003 10:09 (twenty-two years ago)

The main difference between Tania and Lisa for me: I feel sorry for Lisa and her delusions because nobody else shares them - I feel nothing but resentment for Tania's existence because other people share such vapid delusions.

Alan (Alan), Friday, 11 July 2003 10:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, right. Sorry - SIWC was what she called the others. She's obviously fond of the analogy.

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 11 July 2003 10:10 (twenty-two years ago)

The best bit was the fact that she was having a big rant while dressed as a giant he-she leprechaun. Also Steph's face through the ranting - v drunkenly trying to look understanding but clearly unable to follow a word Lisa was saying. well more shouting than saying.

Emma, Friday, 11 July 2003 10:11 (twenty-two years ago)

"Individually they're all nice people, but together they're lions. Or hyenas"

Foregone conclusion eviction nights MUST GO! Bit of tension please. This morning Tickle said that they might as well get rid of Cameron and Steph this week too and just set up the big inevitable FINAL SHOWDOWN ie baldy blondie and boringy. I'm not sure I share his analysis but I wouldn't mind an eviction night when I wasn't sure who'd be voted out.

Tim (Tim), Friday, 11 July 2003 10:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Or was that yesterday morning?

Anyway good bit of BB editing at the weekend. Lisa is one one of her rants and an obviously bored and mildly irritated Steph is smiling semi-politely and saying "really?". Five minutes later they're laying into Lisa behind her back and Steph says "I'm not the sort of person to smile and say 'really?'". Well done BB editing team.

Tim (Tim), Friday, 11 July 2003 10:16 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm detecting a great deal of secret RI:SE watching behind these posts. Out with it! You love RI:SE, don't you? (This is not aimed *specifically* at Tim)

Alan (Alan), Friday, 11 July 2003 10:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Scott really did look like a little leprechaun!! haha!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 11 July 2003 10:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Jon cannot even have a valid opinion, he is far too dull!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 11 July 2003 10:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Because I've been out & about a lot this week, I've been forced into watching Rise to keep up with BB. It's been OK, it has its occasional moments of humour though Iain Lee drives me crazy. The bland acceptance of casual sexism (e.g. the way Lee speaks to that newsreader woman, also surprisingly a lot of the things that Tickle says) is not a good thing. After BB I won't watch Rise again until next year's BB.

Kate Lawler is a better TV presenter than I would have expected.

Oh, I forgot. I love Mel & Sue. They've been off this week and the quality of the show has plummeted as a result. If Mel and Sue presented the whole show I'd consider forsaking D. Baker entirely.

Tim (Tim), Friday, 11 July 2003 10:24 (twenty-two years ago)

mel and sue rule daytime tv — as soon as they breach the 5.oo mark they are rub

mark s (mark s), Friday, 11 July 2003 10:26 (twenty-two years ago)

The bland acceptance of casual sexism (e.g. the way Lee speaks to that newsreader woman,
Zora Suleman. EMMA TO THREAD!

Alan (Alan), Friday, 11 July 2003 10:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I love Mel and Sue. Do they still have their radio show on BBC London?

I cannot put into words how dreadful I find that Lisa woman. If I was BB I'd set all the other housemates a task of not talking to her / looking at her / acknowledging her presence in any way for the remainder of the day.

Still her eviction interview should be a goodie - though there are rumours that TWO people will be leaving tonight. If so, I ask you to all spend a fiver on Cameron - STEPH MUST WIN

j0e (j0e), Friday, 11 July 2003 10:35 (twenty-two years ago)

People focus!!!! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! & LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO! LISA TO GO!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 11 July 2003 10:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Mel and Sue interviewes in new Word Magazine

Alan (Alan), Friday, 11 July 2003 10:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Are you not remotetly interested in finding out how mental she will become, PP? Or in seeing the first BB murder?

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 11 July 2003 10:43 (twenty-two years ago)

i used to be in a jazz band w.mel's older brother!!

mark s (mark s), Friday, 11 July 2003 10:44 (twenty-two years ago)

they cd re-enact the brookside murder

lisa = trevor
steph = anna friel
cameron = sinbad
etc

mark s (mark s), Friday, 11 July 2003 10:45 (twenty-two years ago)

patio = patio

mark s (mark s), Friday, 11 July 2003 10:46 (twenty-two years ago)

N - I like housemates to be annoying & interesting def, but when they are so annoying that I'd rather not watch, it kinda defeats the object. I didnt like Jon & I hate Lisa with all of her I am so strong crap! She thinks she is so clever and is 'playing the game' when in fact she is doing everything possible to get booted out. U have to tow the line initially & she has come in all guns blazing & accusing everyone of all sorts. You're like 'hey, it's not our fault you're ugly, get over it!' heh heh!

I see your point N, but she is too far that way!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 11 July 2003 10:49 (twenty-two years ago)

nush: susannah farnham (yes I know she is from an entirely different brookside era)

j0e (j0e), Friday, 11 July 2003 10:50 (twenty-two years ago)

I would rather steph = mandy as I want nush to = anna friel and snog.. damn we have run out of women ok scott can = the red haired girl whose name I've forgotten. Did Jon Tickle leave his comedy breasts behind?

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 11 July 2003 10:51 (twenty-two years ago)

erm....*confused*

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 11 July 2003 10:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Nicola Stephenson as Margaret Clemence, N.

Not too busy at work for a bit of googling today (Mooro), Friday, 11 July 2003 10:59 (twenty-two years ago)

The show with the interview has been extended to 50 minutes tonight

chris (chris), Friday, 11 July 2003 11:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Can we vote out people on ILE? DADA MUST GO!

Mark C (Mark C), Friday, 11 July 2003 11:15 (twenty-two years ago)

If there was a 'person who posts pointless pics' contest I think Dada would win! Hooray for Dada!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 11 July 2003 11:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Is Lisa an agent provocateur deliberately put in there by BB to stir things up? If so, it would be a kind of emotional blackmail of the voting public: either Lisa stays in, three (four? two?) weeks of blood and carnage; or Lisa goes, three weeks of repainting the bathroom in order to watch the paint dry. Which would you, the viewer, prefer to see?

Then again it is unbecoming of the public to complain about BB being boring after they have systematically voted all the interesting people out - as always happens.

Marcello Carlin, Friday, 11 July 2003 11:45 (twenty-two years ago)

If next week's boring it's more likely to be the absence of ale than the lack of Lisa.

Tim (Tim), Friday, 11 July 2003 11:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Def, keep the alcohol flowing and you have amusing outburts from Ray!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 11 July 2003 11:47 (twenty-two years ago)

outbursts. ahem!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 11 July 2003 11:48 (twenty-two years ago)

this is the industry rumour certainly:

i. the voting figures are as high as ever
ii. but the tabs are screaming that it is boring this year
iii. c4 put pressure on endemol to "spice it up"
iv. hence lisa

the point (the pleasure) of BB is to be "boring" by tabs/soap/sleb-culture standards: ie interesting

mark s (mark s), Friday, 11 July 2003 11:50 (twenty-two years ago)

it is the free improv of telly (julio to thread!!)

mark s (mark s), Friday, 11 July 2003 11:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, would that it were:

It's a shame C4/Endemol felt the need to "spice it up"; the stillness and inaction of the first few weeks, as documented on CoM, I found quite spellbinding. Now it just feels as though they've all been stranded in the waiting room at Gatwick.

Marcello Carlin, Friday, 11 July 2003 11:53 (twenty-two years ago)

industry rumour also says that endemol are angry at the interference, but felt pressured into the changes

(endemol are not idiots when it comes to putting round good bogus rumours btw)

mark s (mark s), Friday, 11 July 2003 11:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Elvis is entering the BB4 house on a giant donkey next week.

Endemol Press Office (nickdastoor), Friday, 11 July 2003 12:05 (twenty-two years ago)

i heard that VIEWING figures are high as ever, but that VOTING had more than halved.

Alan (Alan), Friday, 11 July 2003 12:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Everyone is voting on RI:SE's 'who should be voted out' meta-vote instead.

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 11 July 2003 12:26 (twenty-two years ago)

oh yes i forgot abt the massive voting drop

i have never voted for anything on tv bcz if it changed stuff it wd not be allowed < / stoner lore >

mark s (mark s), Friday, 11 July 2003 12:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Don't matter who you vote out, the Big Brother winner always stays in.

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 11 July 2003 12:34 (twenty-two years ago)

The sheman is on the radio with Chris Moyles & she is a bigger tw@t out of the house than it! Is there no escape?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 14 July 2003 14:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, you could stop listening to the Chris Moyles show.

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 14 July 2003 14:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, well that thought never occured to me, gee thanx N!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 14 July 2003 14:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't work out which one out of Moyles and Lisa is more odious.

j0e (j0e), Monday, 14 July 2003 15:07 (twenty-two years ago)

If Lisa had a daily radio show, I think it might be a close thing. However, she doesn't. Moyles.

Alan (Alan), Monday, 14 July 2003 15:26 (twenty-two years ago)
