My dad seriously loved Barnaby Jones when I was a kid.

I was not a huge fan of The Beverly Hillbillies, but of course I watched it. Jed is one of the greatest TV characters of all time.

And I didn't know about that Wizard of Oz thing.

I fondly remember a Beverly Hillbillies moment when some 'first families' descendant was explaining how their high social status derived from their ancestors coming over on the Mayflower, and the longer back you could trace your ancestry within America the higher you ranked. Jed says something like "So the Indians are right at the top?"
