So Bryan is now in Toronto and wouldn't mind meeting up with all y'all for a drink. Anyone up for something tomorrow night? Sorry for the short notice on this, but the timing of all of this was somewhat uncertain.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Monday, 7 July 2003 19:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Im going to the New Pornographers, doors at 8, so I'll be aiming for 9:30.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Monday, 7 July 2003 19:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Okay just got to Bryan's hotel, he says wednesday would be better anyhow

sean via palm, Monday, 7 July 2003 20:10 (twenty-two years ago)

tehehe, I'll see, I may be busy fixing my landlords computer.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Monday, 7 July 2003 20:18 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm trying very hard not to feel hurt that there was no FAP for me when I was there.

Jodi (Celerina), Monday, 7 July 2003 20:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Wednesday would be much better for me as well. Where?

sundar subramanian (sundar), Monday, 7 July 2003 20:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Bryan should come back to Brooklyn sometime soon - preferably with another gigantic bag of dill-pickle potato chips

phil-two (phil-two), Monday, 7 July 2003 20:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Jodi - we *wanted* to, but Sean (the meanie) didn't invite us!

Kim (Kim), Monday, 7 July 2003 20:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, wah. Next time I'm in Toronto, we'll have a FAP without him, that meanie!

Jodi (Celerina), Monday, 7 July 2003 23:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Bryan shouldn't have left so suddenly and early, he missed out on Bubble Tea!

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 7 July 2003 23:49 (twenty-two years ago)

We got plenty of that here. Why arent YOU coming to TO?

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Tuesday, 8 July 2003 00:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Long story involving kung fu.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 8 July 2003 00:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey, we have bubble tea in Winnipeg. Plus, delicious potato chips in many, many flavour varieties. You could come here!

Jodi (Celerina), Tuesday, 8 July 2003 00:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't really like chips though! I'll bring Phil and Rosemary. I'll have bubble drinks, they have chips.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 8 July 2003 00:36 (twenty-two years ago)

How about C'est What on Wednesday? 6pm-ish to whenever?

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Tuesday, 8 July 2003 01:26 (twenty-two years ago)

We love the C'est What - but it does have a dire lack of patio. I was at Modesto on Queen West yesterday afternoon, and that was quite nice with the windows all opened up to the street (so you can more easily mock passersby) so if the weather is nice, I nominate that place. For starters anyway.

Kim (Kim), Tuesday, 8 July 2003 01:35 (twenty-two years ago)

They have killer martinis!

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Tuesday, 8 July 2003 01:48 (twenty-two years ago)

I was in Toronto on Friday. I don't suppose this helps anyone.

s1utsky (slutsky), Tuesday, 8 July 2003 01:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh yeah - anyone who hasn't come out before, you're more than welcome!

Kim (Kim), Tuesday, 8 July 2003 01:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Okay, I actually had another meeting scheduled Wednesday evening that I completely forgot about, so I'm out; you guys all go and have fun, though.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Tuesday, 8 July 2003 16:08 (twenty-two years ago)

So this is tomorrow night at Modesto's at 6? What's the cross street for Modesto's?

sundar subramanian (sundar), Tuesday, 8 July 2003 16:12 (twenty-two years ago)

6? No way I can hope to make that.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Tuesday, 8 July 2003 16:41 (twenty-two years ago)

i second that. a tad early for me.

dyson (dyson), Tuesday, 8 July 2003 19:10 (twenty-two years ago)

What time would be better? 7?

sundar subramanian (sundar), Tuesday, 8 July 2003 20:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Can we have this sorted out by about lunch time tomorrow?

sundar subramanian (sundar), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 01:36 (twenty-two years ago)

If your getting there at 7 you may be eary, how about that? Its a small enough place we wont be missing youdont worry.
I dont know when Im getting there.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 04:19 (twenty-two years ago)

If your there by you are early, I dont know when im getting there myself but trust me the place is smll enough we wont miss you.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 04:23 (twenty-two years ago)

7 it is then, and Sean you can come by after your meeting can't you? it's not a real FAP without you. Sundar, Modesto is on Queen on the south side about two or three blocks west of spadina. I forget the cross street, but i know toronto.com has the map.

Kim (Kim), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 10:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Correction, its on the north side of Queen and its almost half way between Spadina and Bathurst. There is a carpet store across the street that has a stuffed Camel out front and a coffee bar called Caffiene is also across the street.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 12:48 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll see about coming after I'm done, but I'm not sure how long my even will be running tonight; I will be downtown for it anyhow, so maybe I can wander over if it's not too late. (Thankfully I don't have to shave the carrot tonight.)

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 13:46 (twenty-two years ago)

No beets?

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 13:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Winnipeg is once again Slurpee capital of Canada.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 13:50 (twenty-two years ago)

No, the shaving is all complete for the week. And Horace! What is all this! I remember when I was still in Brandon, at one point we had something like four 7-11s for under 40,000 people, which gave us the highest ratio of sevs to people at that time, I think anywhere. Of course, one of those shut down and ruined it for everyone. If Winnipeg has taken that crown I will be pleased.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 13:52 (twenty-two years ago)

It's some pretend news thing that the marketing dept of SeptOnze came up with. Wpg's long been the champ. Regina moved up to 3rd spot this year. I think Calgary is 2.
There was a story on it in my newspaper on Saturday or something. In the business section.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 13:55 (twenty-two years ago)

You're a pretty weird guy, Horace.
I need some lunch.

BryanInToranna, Wednesday, 9 July 2003 15:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Anyone wanna meet for dinner before the FAP or is there food there or WTF?

BryanInToranna, Wednesday, 9 July 2003 15:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Food is there but its not much of a selection. The brunch menu looked amazing (as did the dishes we saw).

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 16:30 (twenty-two years ago)

by selection I mean the food seems good but your choices are not many.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 16:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Ok. Food will take up room otherwise needed for beer anyway. My God is it nice out here. I hope we'll be sitting outside for at least part of the evening. I'll be there at around 7:15 - 7:30 if anyone cares!

BryanInToranna, Wednesday, 9 July 2003 20:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Are you already ready for more drinking?

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 21:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Bryan, you're only going to be there for 15 minutes? So much effort for so little bang!

Chris P (Chris P), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 21:48 (twenty-two years ago)

YOU PEOPLE ARE INSANE! Thank you for the phone call!!! Post pix!

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 10 July 2003 02:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Who you calling insane, Willis?
http://homepages.dsl.ca/~sean/bryfap-jul2003/bryan-insane-s.jpg

During the middle of the "insane" phone call with Ally, sundar looks strangely serious.
http://homepages.dsl.ca/~sean/bryfap-jul2003/sundar-phone-s.jpg

Here's what Sundar thinks about people who think he's not hardcore.
http://homepages.dsl.ca/~sean/bryfap-jul2003/sundar-finger-s.jpg

dyson feels the same way.
http://homepages.dsl.ca/~sean/bryfap-jul2003/dyson-finger-s.jpg

In fact, here's what we all think.
http://homepages.dsl.ca/~sean/bryfap-jul2003/finger-s.jpg

Finally it's time to leave. Sundar gets a power assist.
http://homepages.dsl.ca/~sean/bryfap-jul2003/piggyback-s.jpg

Sundar doesn't really need to be carried out of the bar, it's just more fun this way.
http://homepages.dsl.ca/~sean/bryfap-jul2003/piggyback2-s.jpg

And so Bryan and Sundar disappear out into the cold dark night, off in search of other adventures. And so the rest of us bid you goodnight, at least until Bryan gets home and uploads his crazy pix.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Thursday, 10 July 2003 04:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Here's what Sundar thinks about people who think he's not hardcore.

Hardcore cardigan.

Chris P (Chris P), Thursday, 10 July 2003 04:58 (twenty-two years ago)

HARDCORDIGAN!

Chris P (Chris P), Thursday, 10 July 2003 04:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Dude, do NOT mock the cardigan. This is what happened when I did:

http://homepages.dsl.ca/~sean/bryfap-jul2003/ceiling-s.jpg

That's right, I got knocked flat on my ass and ended up looking at the ceiling. You've been warned.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Thursday, 10 July 2003 05:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, that's right, I was SUNDARSTRUCK!

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Thursday, 10 July 2003 05:08 (twenty-two years ago)

It was such a nice nice night. Thanks for the fun, you guys. I really can't wait to get back here. I'll post a bunch of my pics when I get back to Winnipeg on Friday.

BryanInToronto, Thursday, 10 July 2003 05:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Did you leave Sundar a chance of living this morning?

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 10 July 2003 11:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Dyson is wearing a soccer jersey=I am in love with him.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 10 July 2003 12:24 (twenty-two years ago)

wait til you see me on my little girly bike – grrr¡

dyson (dyson), Thursday, 10 July 2003 12:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Serie A fans deserve no more.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 10 July 2003 12:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Bryan is a party animal. Like Spudz McKinzie except not dead.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 10 July 2003 12:34 (twenty-two years ago)

I thought girly bike riders all dressed like 50 Cent, not like Soccer Practice??? I'm so confused, will the girly bike go with bounce bounce Kogirl fashion?

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 10 July 2003 13:05 (twenty-two years ago)

HARDCORDIGAN!

This should so be the name of a band.

Nicole (Nicole), Thursday, 10 July 2003 13:07 (twenty-two years ago)

ally, i'm sure we can make it work.

dyson (dyson), Thursday, 10 July 2003 13:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Ok! I'll come to Toronto after I karaoke in LA! And we can ride girly sports bikes.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 10 July 2003 13:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Now I'm really annoyed with myself for not being able to swing Toronto last week. GRR.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 10 July 2003 14:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm so confused, will the girly bike go with bounce bounce Kogirl fashion?

In Queen West anything goes its the fashion district, complete with needle exchange.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 10 July 2003 16:10 (twenty-two years ago)

The thread you have to pay for, though.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Thursday, 10 July 2003 16:16 (twenty-two years ago)

and beads, beads don't come cheap.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 10 July 2003 16:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I wasn't going to post anymore but I guess one more can't hurt. I'm home. Very tired but I feel ok. Thanks for fun, Toronto and NYC people. I'll hopefully see you all again soon.

Bryan (Bryan), Friday, 11 July 2003 19:52 (twenty-two years ago)

You gotta post, swine, you have pictures that MUST BE SEEN.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Saturday, 12 July 2003 00:18 (twenty-two years ago)

dyson (dyson), Saturday, 12 July 2003 06:49 (twenty-two years ago)

(thanks for coming out at all, buddy! It was really great to see you)

Bryan (Bryan), Saturday, 12 July 2003 23:36 (twenty-two years ago)

(Hopefully people who already have a huge crush on dyson have figured out that you can click on the photo I posted above for a larger version.)

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Sunday, 13 July 2003 00:10 (twenty-two years ago)

No one cares about this anymore, but I thought I'd post a few more pics just for fun.

Squirrels in Toronto are EVIL!
http://www3.mb.sympatico.ca/~bryang/EVIL.jpg

Most of the tourists in Toronto are VERY confused! (actually, there was a fire alarm on the 19th floor of the building - false alarm, thankfully)
http://www3.mb.sympatico.ca/~bryang/confused%20tourists.jpg

Here's the view from my room at night, as limited as it was:
http://www3.mb.sympatico.ca/~bryang/view%20from%20room.jpg

Anyone thinking about visiting Toronto and the ILXors there SHOULD. They're a hoot.

Bryan (Bryan), Sunday, 20 July 2003 00:39 (twenty-two years ago)

is the tourist in the foreground there Ralph Klein?

s1utsky (slutsky), Sunday, 20 July 2003 00:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Almost looks like him! I SHOULD'VE KICKED HIS ASS WHEN I HAD THE CHANCE!!!

Bryan (Bryan), Sunday, 20 July 2003 00:58 (twenty-two years ago)
