I just heard this on the radio and was paralyzed at first since they said Lockheed Martin. My stepdad works at Lockheed Martin, however at the FtWorth plant not Meridian. phew.

Dada, are you really a 10yr old child with limited mental abilities? Or maybe I'm just not getting it. . .

I'm choosing to believe the former until evidence to the contrary shows otherwise.

But that was really, really sad. I'm glad it didn't affect your stepdad, sweetie. Why the hell do some people do this? If they're really that disturbed, why not point the gun at themselves and just off themselves?

Being British, I read this as "Workplace shooting in Microsoft". I thought all hell had broken loose in Redmond.

Yeah, guess I should've made that clearer.

kephm, it's not like the guy didn't end up doing it anyway. I'm all about not harming others, and very obviously going around and causing other people's deaths CLEARLY IS harming others. Besides, this is also what my own mother had to say about another one of these murder-suicide shooting sprees several years back.

As for the deaths -- not like they don't happen everywhere in the world. Murder speaks to the dirty, undeveloped human in us. It's the evolved, thinking, feeling parts of us that stop us from killing our fellow humans. At least that's what I think.

hold up...what does your 'own' mom have to do with this?

Mental illness sucks, period. Whenever I hear this I can't help but weep for the victims *and* the perpetrator. So much pain and hurt, so unneccesary.
