Tina's Burritos: Classic or Dud?

Classic, I say. They're like 3 for a dollar, and they come in an amazing variety of flavors. The only flavor that's a total dud is the chicken flavor--what the fuck? It tastes like a hybrid between the worst chicken pie you've ever had and the worst enchilada you've ever had.

I quite like the beef & bean flavor as well as the cheese & been. What flavors do you al recommend?

Also, they're especially nice if you cover 'em with hot sauce and melt some cheese on them during the second half of microwaving.

Nordique,

You need to get to Trader Joe's.

Yeah, passed the one in El Cerrito, but didn't go in. What's the big deal?

it's a grocery that does most of their own distribution on proprietary generic brands so they keep costs down. their frozen foods can be hit or miss, some of them are very good. they do dried foods very well. also, they're one of the cheapest places to buy alcohol in the bay area.

see here for the ILX spin.

their frozen foods unanimously taste like cardboard. every time I go there I got crazy becaue everything is so cheap, buy refrigerator- and cupboard-loads of food, which I then go home, find out is disappointing, and wind up tossing seven months later.

their wine is cheap though.
