just now, an hour after the first comment, i said, "i'm not perfect" and i got back a "yeah, because you're wearing that piece of shit!"

it's just a shirt guys

JasonD (JasonD), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 04:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I like the faux-Hawaiian shirts with fishing lures/cowboys/guns/whatever-your-redneck-subculture-enjoys as the pattern.

Those are classic, and they make it easy for last-minute Father's Day shopping. ("Dad doesn't have one with crankbaits, does he?")

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 04:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I love 'em. Especially vintage ones that are actually from Hawaii. Classic.

That Girl (thatgirl), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 04:32 (twenty-two years ago)

MILLAR TO THREAD!

Tad (llamasfur), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 04:33 (twenty-two years ago)

i'll be honest. i feel kinda dumb in it.

JasonD (JasonD), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 04:35 (twenty-two years ago)

You fules have no style. Give me a swank muthafucka in a vintage Hawaiian shirt and some sharkskin pants or a gabardine Bar Ranch H western shirt and Resistol and my heart is won.

Fules.

That Girl (thatgirl), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 04:37 (twenty-two years ago)

omg can i borrow it saturday?

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 04:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Damn, you are from Texas.

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 04:38 (twenty-two years ago)

gygax!, you just received a firm no from the missus

JasonD (JasonD), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 04:42 (twenty-two years ago)

JasonD (JasonD), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 04:42 (twenty-two years ago)

That Girl (thatgirl), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 04:43 (twenty-two years ago)

the old "surfer brothers' wedding" line!

that girl, are blokes with hawaiian shirts and cowboy hats ok?

Chris Radford (Chris Radford), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 04:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Chris, those styles are so conflicting. I think that might be like wearing a "trucker" hat and a pimp mink coat.

That Girl (thatgirl), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 04:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Which would be the sexiest outfit ever.

Right?

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 04:50 (twenty-two years ago)

K-ROWR!

That Girl (thatgirl), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 04:51 (twenty-two years ago)

rriiiiiiight.........

*quickly takes off trucker hat and pimp mink coat and hides them behind back*

Chris Radford (Chris Radford), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 04:51 (twenty-two years ago)

*quickly joins The International That Girl Fan Club*

Innocent Dreamer (Dee the Lurker), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 04:57 (twenty-two years ago)

That Girl is OTM, more people should wear them, wtf is wrong with ya'all.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 07:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah.

Millar (Millar), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 10:30 (twenty-two years ago)

I've got about 5 of them, and a couple of Vintage "Krameresque" shirts in my closet, also some sharkskin pants, and a sharkskin suit. I only wear these things when I go to the casino. I also own a straw fedora hat. Yeah sometimes I think im the candyman. Some lady here once called me an overgrown hipster. Yeah whatever mullet, the lady had fucking feathered hair and balloons shoes on her feet.

Chris V. (Chris V), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 11:07 (twenty-two years ago)

so i'm wearing one tonight* and my almost wife says, "i seriously can't take you serious, and there's no way i'm giving you a hug or a kiss until you take it off"

Obv. she wanted you to STRIP! get with the program!

teeny (teeny), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 11:13 (twenty-two years ago)

What's so wrong with hawaiian shirts? They're adorable.

Nicole (Nicole), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 11:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I love my hawaiian shirts - I have a few - but I only really wear them on holiday!
Not suitable attire for London in winter - or even summer.

James, Wednesday, 9 July 2003 14:13 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't think I've had any. No revulsion towards them, I just prefer solid colors mostly.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 14:38 (twenty-two years ago)

you can't wear them in Britain - you'll get mistaken for Fatboy Slim

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 14:40 (twenty-two years ago)

or should that be 'you can't wear them in BRIGHTON'

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 14:43 (twenty-two years ago)

"There's only two kind of guys who wear those shirts: gay guys and big, fat party animals." -- Homer Simpson

jaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 16:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Fatboy Slim! Oh that's good.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 16:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Love em. Wear em. But I'm female.
They only work on certain guys, though. They make some guys look like tourists from Iowa.

Orbit (Orbit), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 18:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Fatboy Slim + Hawaiian Shirts = instant trouble

Millar (Millar), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 19:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Friday has inexplicably become hawaiian shirt day for the guys at work.

teeny (teeny), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 19:10 (twenty-two years ago)

If I had a hawaiin shirt I would weart it today. I like the idea of being mistaken for a gay guy, a big fat party animal, or fatboy slim.

That Girl (thatgirl), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 19:22 (twenty-two years ago)

I love my hawaiian shirts, I'm always on the look out for new ones. My best one is from Byrite and it only cost a tenner!

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 19:30 (twenty-two years ago)

if i was to wear one you could mistake me for Millar big time

Dada, Thursday, 10 July 2003 01:20 (twenty-two years ago)

That one isn't very funny, actually.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 10 July 2003 01:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm not finding most of what Dada posts funny.

That Girl (thatgirl), Thursday, 10 July 2003 01:46 (twenty-two years ago)

I usually only read like 3 threads thoroughly, so I was previously seeing, like, the Bill & Ted one and this weird pattern on another thread. But now I'm bored and have read, like, 20 threads and it's kind of like, wtf? It's not quite as clever as they seem to think.

Anyway, Fatboy Slim people. His style is urgent and key; he dresses like an old retired man in Florida.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 10 July 2003 02:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Hawaiin shirts=eh.
Guayaberas=Classic.
