Who cares? I don't care. A horse's ass is better than yours!

kate (kate), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 14:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Thanks Kate.

Chris V. (Chris V), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 14:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Is this because of my love for Ashcroft.

Chris V. (Chris V), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 14:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I've never seen Chris V's ass, so i couldn't possibly comment on that, but beef jerky, well, it's a dog chew for ppl, isn't it?

MarkH (MarkH), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 14:15 (twenty-two years ago)

It's a quote from a Cibo Matto song about Beef Jerky! I wasn't being rude! (for once) :-)

kate (kate), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 14:15 (twenty-two years ago)

sure is Mark and quite tasty. (not my ass)

Chris V. (Chris V), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 14:16 (twenty-two years ago)

bunch of godamn vegans!

Chris V. (Chris V), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 15:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I want to try it, post me some and I'll let you know what I think. After of course, I've tried Squirrel.

chris (chris), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 15:44 (twenty-two years ago)

They don't have beef jerky in the UK?

Chris V. (Chris V), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 15:48 (twenty-two years ago)

first intro 2 the concept = 'trading places'.

edward murphy esq : "beef jerky !?"
whole of england : "wtf" ?

piscesboy, Wednesday, 9 July 2003 15:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Get some flank stank, pound it out real thin. Marinate in soy sauce or smoke flavor. Dry it out for 6 months.

Chris V. (Chris V), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 16:00 (twenty-two years ago)

i recommend escalopes of london broil marinated in soy sauce, shiracha and jalapeno seeds.

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 16:11 (twenty-two years ago)

beef jerky is scrumptious

lawrence kansas (lawrence kansas), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 16:13 (twenty-two years ago)

you can also dry it out in your oven over very low heat for many hours if you don't want to wait six months

lawrence kansas (lawrence kansas), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 16:16 (twenty-two years ago)

or get the Ronco Food Dehydrator.

Chris V. (Chris V), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 16:17 (twenty-two years ago)

I love Beef Jerky. You can get it in the UK, but you have to hunt for it, and it is expensive, although my local Sainsbury's has just started selling it.

Do you get Pork Scratchings in the states?

Chewshabadoo (Chewshabadoo), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 16:20 (twenty-two years ago)

are those the same as pork rinds?

Chris V. (Chris V), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 16:22 (twenty-two years ago)

teriyaki turkey jerky sticks are where it's at fools

jess (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 16:23 (twenty-two years ago)

There's a billboard along I-75 between Toledo and Detroit advertising a 'Beef Jerky Outlet'. So far I've resisted the urge to visit. . .

Jeff Wright, Wednesday, 9 July 2003 16:23 (twenty-two years ago)

why?!

jess (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 16:25 (twenty-two years ago)

discounted jerky! I'd be on that like a pig on shit.

Chris V. (Chris V), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 16:26 (twenty-two years ago)

jerky is great, esp for camping/hiking. most of the big-name stuff makes me feel ill though. Best kind you can find in gas stations: Santa Fe Trail (i think that's the name) Green Chile Jerky: SPICY!

oops (Oops), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 16:36 (twenty-two years ago)

When traveling home to Michigan I see a Beef Jerky outlet sign on US23. I will stop next time. Maybe it'll have beef killed by the Nuge.

lawrence kansas (lawrence kansas), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 17:49 (twenty-two years ago)

You can get "Factory Outlet Ends-N-Pieces" packages of beef jerky by my house. 8 ounces for 1.99!!!

Svend, Wednesday, 9 July 2003 18:18 (twenty-two years ago)

I completely adore Kate for that first post.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 18:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I really hate to say this but Dada wins. Like Wow.

Millar (Millar), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 19:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Pork Rinds you say? That sounds like it could be the same thing. They're basically the nice fatty bit next to the skin cooked 'till crunchy, num.

Chewshabadoo (Chewshabadoo), Wednesday, 9 July 2003 22:25 (twenty-two years ago)

no! you must have the skin, that's the best bit, ideally with a bit of creamy white fat attached,, but no hairs. The best ones come in plain plastic bags.

chris (chris), Thursday, 10 July 2003 07:47 (twenty-two years ago)

See also: Biltong in South Africa. I've eaten elephant biltong. Man, you want chewy? You have to chew it for three days before you can even think about swallowing! I've had ostrich biltong and crocodile biltong, too. Those did, actually, taste just like chicken.

kate (kate), Thursday, 10 July 2003 07:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Who cares? I don't care. A horse's ass is better than yours!

have you been channeling hanle y lately, kate? i mean this to be totally complementary, BTW.

oh yeah re beef jerky -- i love this shit more than i ought to. i really wanna try this elephant jerky shit, too!

Jerky of any kind is delicious. the best commercially made, widely-available kind is Pacific Gold.

the best is the home-made shit, especially if it is venison jerky. i used to have a friend whose grandpappy would smoke and dry that shit himself and would send it up to my friend at college and i would salivate just looking at the bag of it.

wilter, Friday, 9 October 2009 01:07 (sixteen years ago)

As a method of preserving meat so that it requires no refrigeration, jerky is classic top to bottom. Delicious, too. The world is a better place when it contains jerky.

Aimless, Friday, 9 October 2009 01:29 (sixteen years ago)

been rockin some jerky this weekend.

ian, Wednesday, 14 October 2009 03:05 (sixteen years ago)

ian, Wednesday, 14 October 2009 03:05 (sixteen years ago)

kippered beef is better, but I have learned to love the bbq turkey jerky.

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Wednesday, 14 October 2009 03:08 (sixteen years ago)

I bought some Jack Link's jerky to snack on during a long drive in August, and it was some nasty, nasty shit.

WmC, Wednesday, 14 October 2009 03:11 (sixteen years ago)

lol hoos.

okay, Pacific Gold is the shit. had some today.

my bach penises and their contrapuntal technique (the table is the table), Wednesday, 14 October 2009 03:12 (sixteen years ago)

jack link's all depends on the kind you buy, and where you buy it from.

Oberto's is the worst, tho. hands fuckin down.

i like Tillamook, too, but it is a bit pricy for me at times.

kingfish, Wednesday, 14 October 2009 03:18 (sixteen years ago)

kingfish, Wednesday, 14 October 2009 03:21 (sixteen years ago)

Jack Link's turkey is pretty good, wouldn't know about the beef though.

More Butty In Your Pants (Telephone thing), Wednesday, 14 October 2009 03:38 (sixteen years ago)

Was so disappointed that all I could find in Wyoming and Montana was Jack Links crap. New Mexico has premo shit everywhere, even gas stations.

hope this helps (Granny Dainger), Wednesday, 14 October 2009 16:48 (sixteen years ago)

ian, Thursday, 24 December 2009 05:15 (fifteen years ago)

This week I learned that Jack Link's A1 steak sauce flavored jerky is almost incomprehensibly vile. So, so fucking horrible, with an almost soapy aftertaste.
