Notch one up for Whispering Bob.

Wouldn't it be great if we could force others to whisper too? Like, imagine 'Whispering Chris Evans' or 'Whispering Howard Stern'...

Another vote for the whispering one, but only because he never insisted on 'sitting in' w/his guests and playing tedious boogie-woogie piano.

I like them both but I feel more sympathetic to whispering Bob. Having to put up with the shame of not getting the New York Dolls on tv for all eternity, getting attacked by Jah Wobble and recently having Bruno Brookes fuck you over for everything you own including your record collection.

billy: can you give us more info about this bruno brooks thing?

Of course, you do realise that Whispering Bob was just Richard Branson with a bald toupŽ and some plastic buck teeth? The whole thing was just a Virgin Records scam. That's why The Old Grey Whistle Test had so many appearances from Magazine and Mike Oldfield.

whispering bob, but only by default as jools holland is the most smarmy and irritating arsebastard ever to have performed big band songs. or any other songs for that matter.

Bob was buying a place in London from BB, then came the purge at Radio 1. Bob has cash flow problem and can't afford said domicile. Bob tries to get negotiate a deal which keeps him in the house. BB being the caring sharing guy he is tries to get every last penny from him, including instructing bailliffs to sell off his precious (30 years +) record collection. Bob pleads that he needs his record collection in order to pursue his career as a DJ and gets evidence from various DJ colleagues/journalists to back him up. BB says just play what's in the Radio station library. Bob win's his case against BB, (huzzah). So then BB tries to get said moneys from Bob's partner (boo). Eventually BB is paid off (boo). Bob finds a home on Radio 2 amd finally finds respect and love even from people who don't care for his music (huzzah).
