For years, the company had production facilities in Massachusetts, North Carolina, Texas, and Mexico.

So I guess Mexico was the one place other than the US that they used to be produced.

My brother-in-law painted them for me as a birthday present at the height of my White Stripes obsession a couple of years ago. They make good conversation-starters. :-) I like that they're all dirty now but it's pretty sad that the colours are all faded.

My doctor told me they're horrible for your feet, wearing only Chucks and Docs for years on end are probably why I have a pinched nerve in my foot that occasionally flairs up (planar fascitis?) and makes it painful to walk.

i put arch support thingies in mine when i wore them.

chucks are bad shoes, fall apart easily, expensive and are uncomfortable. also i find the people that wear them usually lack imagination and character. this does not make me a shoe snob.

i support your decision to wear knockoffs as they are probably less than half the $54.99 retail OVERprice of actual chucks.

I have had two. When the first pair wore out, I wore them into the store and wore new ones out (of the store).

I miss my hemp Chucks. Newer canvas ones seem to fit like shit and are falling apart straight out of the box, stitching hanging loose, etc.

Or maybe the canvas ones were always terrible, but at $15.95/pair from Academy Sports it was acceptable. For $40+/pair, not so much.

i love both pairs of my adidas campus suede sneaks. they cost $60 each and i dont care.

I've owned a pair of Chucks continuously since 1987 when I mail ordered a pair from an ad in the back of Transworld Skateboarding. I'm wearing a pair right now that I've had for five years now. Maybe this is why they're still intact and were cheap when purchased.

i got them too, i like them bc they weigh like next to nothing. i destroy them pretty thoroughly but i always destroy shoes. i had the blackspot sneakers once and they were a lot tougher but it felt like wearing clown shoes.
