So, we've had our track ready forever for the ILX comp 2, The Second Coming, Return With a Vengence, etc. Should we email it to jel or Ned? Who else is submitting? (A track I mean ha ha)

While we're at it, who all did I not meet when I was in NYC that came to FAP events? I have a feeling it was a lot of peeps. Or were they worth meeting (just kidding)?

And how did the gig go, Di?? (And rainy?)

Oh, I'm SUCH A good poster to only start one thread a day. :)

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 10 July 2003 12:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I may actually have a track to submit by next week, my friends and I plan on recording something Saturday night. Yipee.

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 10 July 2003 12:28 (twenty-two years ago)

This reminds me! I did receive my International Telepaths CD but it was blank! :-(

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 10 July 2003 12:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh no!

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 10 July 2003 12:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I just have to warn everyone that our song is so fucking poppy and cutesy that it will do little to destroy our apparent reputation as the token ILX Cute Couple and in fact it might make you throw up if you're not inclined towards the poppy and cutesy. BUT it is about ILX, so it has that going for it.

Sarah hasn't let me listen to the International Telepaths cd yet. But I'm sure it roxxx.

Again, I feel really bad that we didn't meet everyone in NYC and now I wish I had gotten to go on a 5-day drinking binge with everyone else, except that I had fun seeing sea lions and penguins and the Chelsea flea markets and Williamsburg.

NA. (Nick A.), Thursday, 10 July 2003 12:39 (twenty-two years ago)

my song is about love. im a sap. or maybe I'll submit our R. Kelly Ignition acoustic cover.

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 10 July 2003 12:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Di, you MUST get International Telepaths stickers made so I can put one on my car.

Nick, stop dissing our song or I'll love you more and make us seem ever more cutesy. Also, you should start a thread on that drawing you won.... eh?

I would have had more to drink in New York if they had fruity drinks everywhere. Stupid beer.

Sarah McLUsky (coco), Thursday, 10 July 2003 12:56 (twenty-two years ago)

They do have fruity drinks most everywhere! Somewhere at the Seaport they have a big huge daquiri stand, did you find that? I couldn't find it anywhere, I forgot where it was. :(

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 10 July 2003 13:02 (twenty-two years ago)

OH, my fruity drink detector must have been malfunctioning. I just figured New Yorkers were too cool for the fruitiness. Instead I drank gin and tonics and hard cider.

Sarah McLUsky (coco), Thursday, 10 July 2003 13:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh man, Sarah, I wish I knew you wanted fruity drinks, I know a place with the most amazing fruity margaritas ever. Next time you must come there with me--mostly people don't want to drink those drinks with me but if we team up they will have to come.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 10 July 2003 13:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Uh Sarah, I DID start a thread on that like 3 days ago. Here 'tis: Tattoo mania!

NA. (Nick A.), Thursday, 10 July 2003 13:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Doh! Sorry, NIck.

Come on, dudes. THREE THREADS IN ONE!?!?! CAN you feel the POWER?

Sarah MCLusky (coco), Thursday, 10 July 2003 13:31 (twenty-two years ago)

It's like Voltron but an ILX thread instead!!!!

(God, I'm so depressed I'm back at work)

Ooh on the NYC FAP tip, I showed my friend the picture thread this morning and she's got crushes on THREE of the boys now. You foxy gentlemen.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 10 July 2003 13:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Are you going to say who or will that be part of your extortion plan?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 10 July 2003 13:51 (twenty-two years ago)

ned: i am so sorry. i will send another one asap. i thought they all went :-( sarah :-D :-D our gig was our best ever!!!! rainy's band (the triangles) played their best set ever, cos pam is playing bass now and it just fills it out real nice. duckling's band played their best set ever because for the first time i could hear clayton's chorussy guitar and i could not stop dancing. me and duane were on fire and so we should have been cos we practised hard all week. catcalls and encoresz yes yes yall. i am so happy asnd its not just the booze talking. sold lots of CDs and gained many new fans ....

di smith (lucylurex), Thursday, 10 July 2003 13:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Ned, it's a secret because she's moving into the Hotel Barracks (as my building was named this weekend) so she's going to end up meeting everyone because I am inviting her to all the FAPs now.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 10 July 2003 13:57 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't think I've said how great I think yr Cd is PUBLICALLY, so now I will say that I think yr Cd is really GREAT, Di/Duane

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Thursday, 10 July 2003 13:58 (twenty-two years ago)

ned: i am so sorry. i will send another one asap. i thought they all went :-(

Oh, don't fret! It was a bit of a surprise as I was thinking, "Yay! Di rock!" but then the CD player didn't play it. Double-checked on the computer and I was sad. But your show sounds like it was just fantastic! :-) :-) Rah! Post photos!

Ned, it's a secret because she's moving into the Hotel Barracks (as my building was named this weekend) so she's going to end up meeting everyone because I am inviting her to all the FAPs now.

Dammit, now I either need to get back there or you have to invite her out to LA. Which you should, that would give you an extra person to attack Spencer with.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 10 July 2003 14:00 (twenty-two years ago)

it's rock and it's roll and it's both at once

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Thursday, 10 July 2003 14:00 (twenty-two years ago)

duane just read this thread over my shoulder and we are going to make 'telepaths stickers. i guess we need a logo first. hnmmm

di smith (lucylurex), Thursday, 10 July 2003 14:02 (twenty-two years ago)

ps jim kirsty s came to our gig :-)

di smith (lucylurex), Thursday, 10 July 2003 14:02 (twenty-two years ago)

di and duane got a cd? how can i get one?

chupa, Thursday, 10 July 2003 14:03 (twenty-two years ago)

e-mail me, chupa, can we do a trade?

di smith (lucylurex), Thursday, 10 July 2003 14:05 (twenty-two years ago)

sure im doing it right now

chupa, Thursday, 10 July 2003 14:15 (twenty-two years ago)

That sounds like the punchline to a Rodney Dangerfield joke.

"Sure, I'm doing it RIGHT NOW!" (takes drink, bugs out eyes, adjusts collar).

NA. (Nick A.), Thursday, 10 July 2003 14:22 (twenty-two years ago)

shit Rodney Dangerfield is funny

Chupa-Cabras (vicc13), Thursday, 10 July 2003 14:26 (twenty-two years ago)

While we're at it, who all did I not meet when I was in NYC that came to FAP events? I have a feeling it was a lot of peeps. Or were they worth meeting (just kidding)?

I am so worth meeting. If you come to another nyc fap I may sit there and say nothing to you if you are lucky.

bnw (bnw), Thursday, 10 July 2003 14:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Ned, please stop reminding everyone publically of my crush on Spencer, it's getting embarassing!

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 10 July 2003 14:33 (twenty-two years ago)

D'oh!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 10 July 2003 14:39 (twenty-two years ago)

So, anyway, my friend, she likes ILXors apparently. She's single and cute! I shall do the hook up maneuver skillfully! Unfortunately, Ned, she cannot come to LA at the same time as me because I'm kind of a psuedo-supervisor and she must be around if I am not to handle my questions. C'est la vie.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 10 July 2003 14:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey, if it's an MP3 tell Mr.Ned, and you can email it to him. If it's a CD or tape then you can post it to me, Mr.jel, I'll give you an address. Thanks!!

I'm working on the track Mr Chupa!

Date for submission is really whenever at the mo.

What I really need is someone who is willing to host the comp online, as I don't wanna charge people for it, and can't afford mass copies. Coz, then people can burn copies and send it to others who can't download.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 10 July 2003 14:44 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah i wanted to talk to you bout that how is it goin with that song?

Chupa-Cabras (vicc13), Thursday, 10 July 2003 14:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Best thing to do with mp3s sent to me is to send them on the weekend, since then I can automatically suck them up onto my home computer. Thanks!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 10 July 2003 15:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh my god! I go to a property to hang out with a chimney sweep, and I come back and my thread's all popular.

I'm so glad I inspired telepaths stickers.
Rock.

bnw, are You sure I didn't meet you for a sec before I headed out? Hmmm... No, you'd remember me, right? (don't know your real life name)

Sarah McLUsky (coco), Thursday, 10 July 2003 15:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Ned's computer sucks.

Sarah McLUsky (coco), Thursday, 10 July 2003 15:08 (twenty-two years ago)

You definitely didn't meet him, he was unfortunately not in attendance, Sarah :(

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 10 July 2003 15:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Maybe I met him in my dreams?

Ally, Give me a margarita.

Sarah McLUsky (coco), Thursday, 10 July 2003 15:15 (twenty-two years ago)

In the "BRAND NEW ILX comp II Thread"...

...I'm almost done with a new song that would be quite appropriate yay! It's like totally all groovy and mellow and jangly and twee as a bucket of kittens! It's got accordion in it! And a goofy electronic drum breakdown! RAWR!

In the "NYC FAP thread"...

...you know how jealous I already am of the fun y'all had, now you go talkin' bout cute single girls crushing on male ILXors in attendance? Grrrrr.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 10 July 2003 15:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Sarah--the margaritas are awesome because they're made with real fruit puree, you can actually see them do it if you watch over the bar. I highly recommend mango and pomegranite.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 10 July 2003 15:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Ally, I'm there with you for foofy drinks.

Chris P (Chris P), Thursday, 10 July 2003 16:09 (twenty-two years ago)

YAY! We'll drink them out of house and home and pomegranite.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 10 July 2003 16:21 (twenty-two years ago)

ha ha...he said "foofy"!

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 10 July 2003 16:21 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll foofy-drink you under the table, nza!

Chris P (Chris P), Thursday, 10 July 2003 16:22 (twenty-two years ago)

This is kinda getting dirty.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 10 July 2003 16:23 (twenty-two years ago)

We're trying to make up for Sarah and Nick's tweeness above.

Chris P (Chris P), Thursday, 10 July 2003 16:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Why taint perfectly good booze with fruit. A cherry in my manhattan is as far as I'll go.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 10 July 2003 16:30 (twenty-two years ago)

I think you actually get drunker if you mix in fruit. Sugar reaction or something. This could just be me.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 10 July 2003 16:31 (twenty-two years ago)

OMG U R ALL FRUITS

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 10 July 2003 16:32 (twenty-two years ago)

The problem is that one can hardly be sophisticated with any drink that accepts a cocktail umbrella.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 10 July 2003 16:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Foofy drinks aren't "better" or "worse" than "real" drinks, they're just different. Each has its pleasures.

And who wants to look sophisticated all the time?

Chris P (Chris P), Thursday, 10 July 2003 16:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Honestly, who pisses on a cat? Wtf?

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 11 July 2003 13:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I had a friend in college who pissed on a rabbit once. (The funny part of the story is that it was a caged rabbit in this girl's dorm room.)

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 11 July 2003 13:08 (twenty-two years ago)

How is that funny?

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 11 July 2003 13:10 (twenty-two years ago)

It was very brief, he ran off. The thing is, one female cat (at the time very little/young) lives pretty much JUST IN MY ROOM. The older, much larger male cat has the run of the house, along w/the less aggressive other large male one. So the huge, often pretty mean cat and the tiny one fight a bit, big deal, it happens. However, one night I'm outside my room taking a piss and the little one sprints inside and hides under my bed terrified, and the big meanish one sneaks along cockily to finish the fight (he NEVER comes into my room other than to fuck w/her) and, bearing in mind that cats have no particular moral etc aversion to urine, I put him off w/it. He looked shocked for a couple of seconds and leaped off, it was very funny.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Friday, 11 July 2003 13:13 (twenty-two years ago)

But then you had to wash her right? I mean, I know cats are hygenic but I wouldn't want to pet a peed-on cat. Yuck!

Sarah MCLUsky (coco), Friday, 11 July 2003 13:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes but just because cats aren't morally adverse to urine doesn't mean you should be pissing on them. I mean, they must've tracked it everwhere.

xpost! Sarah is OTM!

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 11 July 2003 13:20 (twenty-two years ago)

One of my college singing groups was being hosted at Cornell (I missed this trip because I had to go to a party HAW HAW) and this girl was my friend's host. He got rip-roaringly drunk the night after the concert and, in a besotten daze, got up in the middle of the night convinced that the rabbit cage was the toilet despite protestations from the other guy being hosted and the rabbit itself. He woke up the next morning with no recollection of the event, but had to endure a bus full of guys singing "Piss on the bunny/Piss on the bunny" (to the tune of "We're in the money") the entire ride from Ithica to Boston.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 11 July 2003 13:24 (twenty-two years ago)

No he went off and fucked around outside for a few hours, this was at about 2.30am. I'm glad I was there to let poor little Sheena in, actually. I imagine he cleaned himself. Serves him right, frankly.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Friday, 11 July 2003 13:25 (twenty-two years ago)

God, you're both freaks.

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 11 July 2003 13:27 (twenty-two years ago)

There had better not be any piss in the drinks at GirliDrink, that's all I'm saying.

Chris P (Chris P), Friday, 11 July 2003 14:10 (twenty-two years ago)

And GirliDrink is a great name. Go with it.

Chris P (Chris P), Friday, 11 July 2003 14:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Even tweeer = being pissed on by a kitten

Will a puppy do? My aunt just sent us all a photo of a puppy piddling on somebody's notebook computer, under a headline like "Why you should always buy the warranty."

j.lu (j.lu), Friday, 11 July 2003 16:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Can I submit something if it's like 10 min or is there a time limit? Or should someone listen to it first or something like that?

sundar subramanian (sundar), Friday, 11 July 2003 17:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Sarah McLUsky (coco), Thursday, 17 July 2003 11:54 (twenty-two years ago)

I want to join someone else's band. But no one else will have me. :-(

Oh yeah, except Chris B. I'm already in Chris B's International Dream Drone Band. Can you feel the wub? Wubwubwubwubwubwubwub.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 17 July 2003 18:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I didn't mean it that way, jeez! It was friendly! Because Dunedin is friendly! :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 17 July 2003 18:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 17 July 2003 20:57 (twenty-two years ago)

I will happily contribute, if I can send it to somebody on cassette.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Thursday, 17 July 2003 20:59 (twenty-two years ago)

di smith (lucylurex), Thursday, 17 July 2003 23:44 (twenty-two years ago)

one month passes...
Hi. Jel has the song from me and Sarah and can confirm that it is rockin and twee. Let this be the impetus for the rest of you to get your songs in, because then you can hear ours.

NA (Nick A.), Wednesday, 27 August 2003 17:59 (twenty-two years ago)

(If only all threads could be this efficient...)

Sarah McLUsky (coco), Wednesday, 27 August 2003 19:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Did you get my CD, Jel?
