I don't care what anybody says, I still consider Hal Jordan to be the one true Green Lantern.

I like John Stewart. The series where he was on the mental patchwork planet was one of DC's more successful experiments in the 'we'll-publish-anything' years.

I wish Jon Stewart was the Green Lantern.

Don't forget Gary G'nort and his Great Space Coaster.

Tep (ktepi), Thursday, 10 July 2003 16:06 (twenty-two years ago)

What happened in the patchwork planet story? I recall enjoying it a lot but I can't actually remember what happened in that (I have an appalling memory).

Chriddof (Chriddof), Thursday, 10 July 2003 17:48 (twenty-two years ago)

The Beyonder sent them all home after he ambushed Dr Doom (he'd been pretending to be Klaw).

... no, wait ...

Tep (ktepi), Thursday, 10 July 2003 18:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Mogo. (The one who doesn't socialize.)

Douglas (Douglas), Thursday, 10 July 2003 18:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't care that much about any of them. Alan Scott was surely drawn by Alex Toth (greatest comic book artist ever!) more often than Hal, and I like his costume better, so him.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 10 July 2003 20:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Wasn't Hal a mass-murdering alcoholic?

Al Ewing (Al Ewing), Thursday, 10 July 2003 22:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Who hasn't been in their time. I believe he has also been dead, come back to life, the sun and restarted all of creation for a laugh/crossover/try and sort out convoluted Hankman continuity.

Pete (Pete), Friday, 11 July 2003 08:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I think he's currently the Spectre.
Which, I mean, seems sorta off.

two months pass...
I just read Green Lantern: Brightest Day/Blackest Night with awesome awesome awesome art by John K. Snyder III and have decided to pledge my allegiance to Alan Scott simply because he has the best costume in all of superherodom:

note: above awesome art is by Alex Ross, couldn't immediately find any of Snyder's GL stuff, but it's very very different.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Thursday, 2 October 2003 17:17 (twenty-two years ago)

I refuse to accept that I'm the only one who cares about this pressing issue!

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 3 October 2003 15:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Alex Ross is great, esp. for prestige-format one-off stories.

I was never a huge Green Lantern fan, but I love that the Comedy Central Justice League has John Stewart.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 3 October 2003 15:42 (twenty-two years ago)

I dislike Alex Ross more than I dislike the Beatles.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Friday, 3 October 2003 16:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I like Christmas more than I like Chunukah.

# of villains in that trailer tittered @ by me = 2, 3 if you count carol

A B C, Wednesday, 17 November 2010 04:52 (fifteen years ago)

Sinestro looks perfect! Love seeing Tomar Re and Kilowog in there too. That blog post is dumb, he's judging a grainy video of unfinished effects. Apparently the scope of the film is enormous in a way that the trailer doesn't even hint at, which I think is great considering the timidity a lot of superhero movies have when it comes to portraying the fantastic.

"the one thing a green lantern needs is to be fearless, and that isn't me" doesn't sound like the Hal Jordan I know, but frankly the Hal Jordan I know is boring as fuck. If they need to make him more fun and charismatic and give him a character arc, whatever, that's fine.

KyleP (Princess TamTam), Wednesday, 17 November 2010 07:28 (fifteen years ago)

The trailer hints at 'pretty big' imo.

Gukbe, Wednesday, 17 November 2010 07:33 (fifteen years ago)

Martin still painfully OTM.
