What have you done today to make you feel proud?

It's a lovely day today and whatever you had to do was all about achievement. Did your effort equate with your achievement? My effort consisted of making sure, one child got to eat a huge Yorkshire Pudding with four sausages and gravy.I also picked roses and put them in vases before the rain came down. Chuffed, me.

kayT (kaytee), Saturday, 12 July 2003 19:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I woke up.

That Girl (thatgirl), Saturday, 12 July 2003 19:40 (twenty-two years ago)

I managed to download a Darkness track.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 12 July 2003 19:42 (twenty-two years ago)

I got my shopping done, but am I proud? If I can coordinate everything for Chaki's show tonight then I'll be proud of something.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 12 July 2003 19:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Today I spat about half a pint of purulent mucus into the washbasin. Yay. Who would have thought I had it in me.

Sommermute (Wintermute), Saturday, 12 July 2003 19:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Haven't done it yet, but I'm going to try to de-clutter a small area of my living room and then get a haircut.

nickn (nickn), Saturday, 12 July 2003 19:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I held my patience.

kayT (kaytee), Saturday, 12 July 2003 19:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I had all my ironing done before 10am, which baffles me completely, but hey, it's done, I'm pleased about that.

I also did a lap of Richmond Park on my bike in 33 minutes, which isn't close to my best time but it's not bad for 30 degree heat and lots of people getting the way.

Mark C (Mark C), Saturday, 12 July 2003 20:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Survived again. (Well, 35 minutes to go...)

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 12 July 2003 21:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I made salmon and rice and tomato salad with feta cheese.

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Saturday, 12 July 2003 21:36 (twenty-two years ago)

i was a really fun person to be around today. too bad no one was around to see it...

django (django), Saturday, 12 July 2003 21:40 (twenty-two years ago)

I avoided going on a murder spree when some bastards called 'Rock Church' kept singing that at me in an attempt to make me a Jesus-lovin' hombre. I have no problem with Christianity but I feel this was a sick cult and to join their M People related religion would be like unto bowing to a big gold cow.

Al_Ewing, Saturday, 12 July 2003 21:52 (twenty-two years ago)

After getting shitty/depressing news last night I woke with a new sense of purpose and actually did something about it. Or started to, but even chipping away at the problem slightly helped my mood immeasurably.

s1utsky (slutsky), Saturday, 12 July 2003 21:53 (twenty-two years ago)

nothing today. wasn't nasty to an ILXOR ;)

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Saturday, 12 July 2003 21:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah you were, Julio!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 12 July 2003 21:57 (twenty-two years ago)

i have come to the realazation that chosing convention is actually chosing something, and that i should respect that choice as i would respect any other.

anthony easton (anthony), Saturday, 12 July 2003 22:47 (twenty-two years ago)

I made lamb minestrone. Well, it's not done yet, though. And I'm ... planning to write, but haven't yet. Okay, so I'm slacking.

Tep (ktepi), Saturday, 12 July 2003 23:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Slacker.

luna (luna.c), Saturday, 12 July 2003 23:06 (twenty-two years ago)

It's your fault, what with the Moxie festival and all.

Tep (ktepi), Saturday, 12 July 2003 23:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I just showed it to you because I thought it would make you happy on some minor scale. You can't blame a slacking day entirely on that.

luna (luna.c), Saturday, 12 July 2003 23:11 (twenty-two years ago)

If you're a slacker you sure as hell can

oops (Oops), Saturday, 12 July 2003 23:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Well okay, the Moxie Festival is cool in a weird, surreal, what-the-hell kind of way, which is a good way. And see, thoughts of Moxie ... distracted me ... from, uh, getting stuff done.

Tep (ktepi), Saturday, 12 July 2003 23:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Ah well then I can be proud of distracting you from things you needed to do?

luna (luna.c), Saturday, 12 July 2003 23:16 (twenty-two years ago)

It ain't much, but it's a start.

luna (luna.c), Saturday, 12 July 2003 23:17 (twenty-two years ago)

No!

You shush or no CD.

Tep (ktepi), Saturday, 12 July 2003 23:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Dirty pool!

luna (luna.c), Saturday, 12 July 2003 23:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Murky lake!

Tep (ktepi), Saturday, 12 July 2003 23:35 (twenty-two years ago)

He's great. saw him open up for the Spinner Sisters

oops (Oops), Saturday, 12 July 2003 23:36 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm proud of posting of the porn thread....

Orbit (Orbit), Saturday, 12 July 2003 23:40 (twenty-two years ago)

oops, I mean ON the Porn thread...ack..spazoid

Orbit (Orbit), Saturday, 12 July 2003 23:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Tep (ktepi), Sunday, 13 July 2003 00:15 (twenty-two years ago)

You'll do anything to put off that writing, won't you?

luna (luna.c), Sunday, 13 July 2003 00:17 (twenty-two years ago)

... bah, apparently. (I have You've Got Mail on the television. What does THAT tell you?)

I'm not putting it off so much as d o i n g i t v e r y s l o w l y.

Tep (ktepi), Sunday, 13 July 2003 00:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Goddammit I had more spaces there.

Tep (ktepi), Sunday, 13 July 2003 00:19 (twenty-two years ago)

I played in the fountain underneath the giant steel globe that was built for the 1964 NY World's Fair.

Chris Barrus (Chris Barrus), Sunday, 13 July 2003 00:23 (twenty-two years ago)

When I get out of here, I'm having my eyeballs lasered.

luna (luna.c), Sunday, 13 July 2003 00:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I managed to run in my tallest, thinnest heels.

Maria (Maria), Sunday, 13 July 2003 03:52 (twenty-two years ago)

I went on a long and healthful bike ride.

jewelly (jewelly), Sunday, 13 July 2003 04:02 (twenty-two years ago)

I took all of the leftover beef cubes from my wife's friend's B-B-Q and made like 5 shishkabobs that weighed 2 lbs each, grilled them, and ate them by myself. then I ate half a Vidalia onion, raw. Just to balance out the meat/veggies thing.

Helltime Producto (Pavlik), Sunday, 13 July 2003 04:05 (twenty-two years ago)

i stayed in bed til after 4 pm

duane, Sunday, 13 July 2003 04:20 (twenty-two years ago)

duane, Sunday, 13 July 2003 04:45 (twenty-two years ago)

i was hoping to do some recording, see last two posts for reasons why it isn't happening. so um about all i achieved today was to make a very delicious pasta and vegetable dish. i'll be prouder if i bother to go to my lectures tomorrow.

di smith (lucylurex), Sunday, 13 July 2003 06:10 (twenty-two years ago)

I got up at a reasonable time, and saw both Pirates of the Carribean and Cremaster 3 on the same day! Wearing a Momus t-shirt, as well.

Layna Andersen (Layna Andersen), Sunday, 13 July 2003 06:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I ran a mile really damn fast. And I wasn't even on meth.

oops (Oops), Sunday, 13 July 2003 07:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Saturday; I wrote 500 words about "Spanish Key" from Bitches Brew for a new feature idea for Stylus which I'm really happy with. I also took some beautiful pictures of the moon reflected on the sea from Emma's bedroom.

Sunday; Thus far my achievements amount to wiping my arse and not a lot more.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Sunday, 13 July 2003 08:13 (twenty-two years ago)

It's 10.30 a.m., I have a hangover and I have just played air guitar in my sitting room to "Living on a Prayer". I have already eaten breakfast and we are about to go and pick my husband's mother up from the airport. Usually at this time of a Sunday morning I am sleeping, so being up, not to mention energetic, silly and nice to my mother-in-law is something to be proud of...

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 13 July 2003 08:36 (twenty-two years ago)

I did indeed see Chaki and Nick and Vic and other fine folk and now I'm here. I'm proud of now sitting around doing this and feeling relaxed.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 13 July 2003 19:59 (twenty-two years ago)

As did I (relace Nick with Ned) but didn't get my hair cut. I also cleared that area of my living room.

nickn (nickn), Monday, 14 July 2003 02:22 (twenty-two years ago)

i washed the inner bit of our glasto tent (it was a bit mouldy and smelly after being bundled wet into its bag and not taken out again for two weeks - i'm not proud of that bit) and put it up in our living room to dry. and i cleaned the bath too.

rener (rener), Monday, 14 July 2003 08:22 (twenty-two years ago)

i went to my lectures and worked on a new song.

di smith (lucylurex), Monday, 14 July 2003 09:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 14 July 2003 11:24 (twenty-two years ago)

james (james), Monday, 14 July 2003 11:36 (twenty-two years ago)

I got up and went to work against my better judgement.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 14 July 2003 12:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Ooh wearing a new bra!! Does that count?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 14 July 2003 13:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Finally finished that damn chapter, despite taking the requisite ATHF/Sealab break. Went to sleep at a reasonable time (uungh), had a dream which corrected a mistake in the chapter (I kid you not; I was standing on a picnic table giving a speech about how parents have the wrong ideas about college, and this chick I used to know was there, and she thanked me for not pointing out she was a stripper, and I was all yeah no problem, and then I went back to my speech and said something about $27K a year for tuition for a degree in arts administration -- and when I woke up, I went, "arts administration! That's what I meant! Not art history!" and came downstairs and corrected the chapter), woke up, said fuck it, not going to class today, slept in and now feel superproductive.

Tep (ktepi), Monday, 14 July 2003 14:49 (twenty-two years ago)

I got up.

Vic (Vic), Monday, 14 July 2003 14:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I utilized the "truck toy" option this morning when my son was nanoseconds away from a vicious temper-tantrum at the prospect of not being able to take his toy tractor in to summer-school with him. As the toy was proclaimed a "truck toy", it had to stay in the truck. Child in school, toy tractor in the truck, crisis averted.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 14 July 2003 15:24 (twenty-two years ago)

i didn't shit my pants.

Chris V. (Chris V), Monday, 14 July 2003 15:42 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't have my glasses on, but I'm pretty sure she's saying "HELP HELP, there's a weasel crawling up my back!"

Tep (ktepi), Monday, 14 July 2003 16:26 (twenty-two years ago)

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Sunday, 7 March 2004 22:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Set aside some free money (sorta) for a trip instead of spending it immediately.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 7 March 2004 22:29 (twenty-two years ago)

a trip to new zealand?? (please say yes!)

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Sunday, 7 March 2004 22:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Aw. :-) No, more local, up to Portland in May. Prices went up in between now and the last time I checked, so I had to set aside now or else cry.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 9 March 2004 01:57 (twenty-two years ago)

A couple of regular drones today, aren't we?

How about that script, Skottie?

jim wentworth (wench), Tuesday, 9 March 2004 02:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Sit-com pilot. First draft. I'll sit on it a week or so and rewrite then show it to an agent I know. Not my agent, because I don't have one. But who knows...

Skottie, Tuesday, 9 March 2004 02:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Yay drones! (In this case it was drone work with a good soundtrack.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 9 March 2004 02:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Good luck w/ the draft. I could have used a laugh or two today. I'm facing a fast approaching deadline. (accounting)

My soundtrack today was abhorrently nil. I have to get a new radio/CD player.

Hopefully guided somebody lost to the right bus stop. But need to remember that the bus goes in 2 different directions from what is the headstop for mine and if they're looking for the one heading in the same direction as my one does it goes from a totally differently located bus stop on the far side of teh park.

PIcked up a copy of the Grace Jones biography for €6 which I've wanted to read since it came out.

Sewed a lot more of teh front of the jacket I've been working on recently. Trimmed the waistcoat collar of the other garment that I've started.

Took a shower in a Lush shower gel so I smell nice.

Started chopping onions with my new chef's knife. & thankfully didn't quite take my thumb off.
