Avoiding the inevitable -- C or D?

Last week on The Jewelly Show, Jewelly was complaining about a really bad toothache. Her on-line friend Tep and all the supporting characters in her real life told her she needed to go to the #$@!%& dentist and get it taken care of. Jewelly agreed. The episode ended on a cliff-hanger: Jewelly, sitting next to her phone, Yellow Pages open to the number of a dentist, looking from the dentist's phone number to the phone, then back at the number, then at the phone again ...Was she going to call?

This week we find Jewelly blissfully pain-free, the problem apparently solved. What is this, a re-run? Do we have to wait until next season to see what happens at the dentist's office -- all the crying and the leaning on friends for support, the pleas to God for mercy, the ear-splitting screams, the inevitable fainting ... hey, this is the stuff we tune into The Jewelly Show for, after all! So where is it?!

Well, folks, the star of the show has decided to stretch this story-line out for as long as it will go. It seems the pain just went away on its own and though her gums are probably riddled with disease, her teeth undoubtedly rotting right out of her head, she has opted to take the path of least resistance. The strategy is to keep people watching, because we all know the longer she waits, the more horrible and gut-wrenching the problem is going to get -- and, hey folks, that's just good TV!

Yeah. So, anyway, is there anyone else who's sweeping some problem under the rug and allowing it to fester?

Call the dentist!

(My dental surgery would probably not have involved so much painful root-planing had I not put off the appointment for so long.)

But ... well, yeah, I have a chipped filling, in fact, which I really should get fixed. And there's this computer ... that I'm, uh, using right now ... that really should be replaced ... but that I haven't technically finished paying for yet ... nor made a payment on in, um, two years?

Oh yeah, I think I need a new prescription for my glasses, too, which makes me feel a bit silly for spending so much money on them. I got the "time for your checkup" note, ignored it, and now keep adjusting where I hold my head in relation to stuff and so forth. I only use them for reading, but I've noticed that I don't like sitting in the blowjob seats at the movies because I can't quite see the screen well enough.

Tep (ktepi), Sunday, 13 July 2003 04:50 (twenty-two years ago)

We don't want you in the blowjob seats anyway, Tep. If you're there to watch the movie, sit closer to the front and leave us the hell alone.

jewelly (jewelly), Sunday, 13 July 2003 04:55 (twenty-two years ago)

It was you that time at the Palace, wasn't it?

(I guess blowjob seats should be at the front, really, so you can shout "down in front!" and someone can mufflemumble back, "'m 'OIN 'own, 'm 'OIN 'own!")

Tep (ktepi), Sunday, 13 July 2003 04:59 (twenty-two years ago)

They have blowjob seats now?

s1utsky (slutsky), Sunday, 13 July 2003 05:14 (twenty-two years ago)

BA-DUMP-BUMP-BUMP

thank you

s1utsky (slutsky), Sunday, 13 July 2003 05:15 (twenty-two years ago)

s1utsky, are you bumping this because you want to hear more about people avoiding the inevitable, or more about blowjob seats?

*Sniff* My poor thread. Run off the rails already and it barely made it out of the station ...

jewelly (jewelly), Sunday, 13 July 2003 05:21 (twenty-two years ago)

I recommend my IMAX for blowjobs--it's not the most private but the sound is incredible!

adam (adam), Sunday, 13 July 2003 05:22 (twenty-two years ago)

jewelly, if it makes you feel any better, I've had an itch on my left middle toe for 2 months now...i think it's my laundry detergent. Oh! and laundry! that hasn't been done yet either.

Thanks, django. That helps.

jewelly (jewelly), Sunday, 13 July 2003 05:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I did have my first visit to a dentist EVER last summer. A root canal and all 4 wisdom teeth pulled. I really think you should get it over with! ASK FOR GAS! Me, I'm never going back ever again. I'll just switch to smoothies once my teeth fall out.

django (django), Sunday, 13 July 2003 05:47 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd like to find a dentist who will let me pick up the knock-out gas and take it before I actually come to his office, and then my boyfriend or somebody can just drag me, unconscious, into the office for my exam and whatever actual work needs to be done. It would save everyone so much trouble; I don't understand why nobody will do this for me.

jewelly (jewelly), Sunday, 13 July 2003 05:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Blowjob seats are inevitable. They probably have some at certain dentists'.

Tep (ktepi), Sunday, 13 July 2003 06:02 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm just going to pretend that I never posted to this thread.

s1utsky (slutsky), Sunday, 13 July 2003 06:07 (twenty-two years ago)

i guess we know what tep's doing tonight.

django (django), Sunday, 13 July 2003 06:10 (twenty-two years ago)

I think there are a couple of things. Fortunately, I have successfully forgotten about them.

oops (Oops), Sunday, 13 July 2003 08:03 (twenty-two years ago)

My brother's teeth cost him £1,000 cos he drank too much Ribena and was scared of the dentist. My teeth are grebt.

That Girl (thatgirl), Monday, 14 July 2003 01:59 (twenty-two years ago)

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Monday, 14 July 2003 02:00 (twenty-two years ago)

And a cuspidor.

estela (estela), Monday, 14 July 2003 02:06 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't top that ...

(The seats in the back! I mean, you're not gonna get or give a blowjob in the middle seats, or the front row.)

Tep (ktepi), Monday, 14 July 2003 02:11 (twenty-two years ago)

I wouldn't put it past Alanis.

estela (estela), Monday, 14 July 2003 02:14 (twenty-two years ago)
