Peter Jackson's King Kong

tentatively looking forward to Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, dependant on Michael Keaton getting Wonka.

is Kate Winslet still playing the Fay Wray (or Jessica Lange haha) role in King Kong?

I'll tell you what I'm not looking forward to, that Sweet Smell of Success remake with John Cusack.

Though I REALLY hope J. Lo & Ben do their Casablanca remake.

s1utsky (slutsky), Sunday, 13 July 2003 05:28 (twenty-two years ago)

with Method Man as Sam

Yeah, ditto the Burton Wonka (that just sounds great). Is he really trying to get Keaton? That would rock! Even if he doesn't, I'm looking forward to it.

Coen Bros' anything. I don't care. Remake Chairman of the Board with Verne Troyer in the Carrot Top role. Give me Meet John Doe starring Evan Marriott and Valerie Bertinelli. After O Brother and The Man Who Wasn't There, they get one I-will-trust-you-no-matter-what movie.

I had the exact opposite reaction to those two movies.

s1utsky (slutsky), Sunday, 13 July 2003 05:33 (twenty-two years ago)

supposedly Keaton and Walken are the frontrunners for Wonka, and though I'd definitely go see a Walken Wonka, I wanna see a Keaton and Burton reunion.

James Blount (James Blount), Sunday, 13 July 2003 05:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I think the reason the Ladykillers remake doesn't worry me is cuz when I remember rumours of a Mike Nichols directed remake of Kind Hearts and Coronets with Will Smith and Robin Williams in the Guinness role (I would be calling in bombthreats to the theaters that showed this).

I can't really get excited about a Willy Wonka remake. WHo dares fill Gene Wilder's shoes?

s1utsky (slutsky), Sunday, 13 July 2003 05:40 (twenty-two years ago)

I was weirded out by the Wonka remake until I got to the bit in the article where they explained that Roald Dahl had hated the Gene Wilder version. I mean, I like the movie, but I remember it being pretty different from the book (I haven't read the book or seen the movie in ages, so I wouldn't be able to say in what ways).

And Keaton should be in everything Burton does. If it's sensible to talk about a director and an actor having chemistry, they have it.

Tep (ktepi), Sunday, 13 July 2003 06:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Aww, who cares what Roald Dahl thought. I second that Keaton thing though.
