or 'ethan's wacky misadventures as reported from a huge library computer lab that i had to take the bus to'. so, my apple macintosh centris 660av circa1993 finally died when the power supply starting shooting big fucking sparks as i tried to install ram into it. i was able to save my hd with everything importantly computerish i've ever done preserved on it, but for now (and it seems a while into the forseeable future, because i don't have a thousand bucks to drop on even the cheapest fucking imac) i have nothing to jam it into. so here's a quick rundown like i always do:
1) my best to everyone here. i'm disappointed about having to take this forced vacation right when it seemed il* was nearing another peak but like kurtis blow said, these are the breaks.
2) this is going to put my future at pitchfork on a nasty hiatus and this library-based bastard won't even let me email, so to anyone who talks to ryan pitchfork on a regular basis (ALERT: MELISSA I AM REFERRING TO YOU HERE), please tell him to allow me a brief time to get shit together. however i WILL get what was meant to be my next big review (you know what) to him, even if it means mailing it on a fucking postcard.
3) speaking of, if you want to mail me a fucking postcard, i'm:
four-twenty-one west hancock ave
apartment number two-twenty-five
athens, ga
30601
4) to all my pals who are on aim all the time for some reason, if you see matt around tell him i'm okay and refer him to this thread since he doesn't read ile.
5) yeah so i'm just sort of making this up as i go along and i don't really have a fifth point. i guess, again, much love to everyone i know here, and hopefully i'll be back in a few months, at the most. thanks.
oh yeah, a postscript: anthony, before all this happened, i was planning to try and make a minicomic of your story about meeting the mildly famous ex-anchorman doug downs, and since i don't have email right now send me a postcard or something with your address if you want a copy. sorry i didn't get to ask your permission but knowing your attitudes on art and stuff i know you're okay with it. thanks a million, love you all, be back soon i hope.

Y'know, given Tom's post about that Basement Jaxx review, Scott's
comment about not even being able to get in w/ the PFunk posse (in
light of being shut out of IL*Ville), and Nitsuh's last comment, I
dare say we're heading towards a FT / Pitchfork Royal Rumble.
Wonder what the title fight'll be...

If you can, get a beige G3 on Ebay. Some are going for $250, if
you can swing that. You should be able to find older Macs for far
less than that, even. And for that matter, my parents have picked
up a fair number of 486s for free...

Oh,
Pitchfork is fine, except when its staff is behaving
really,
really stupidly. Which isn't
all that often,
to be fair.
My beef with them is one of those pretend antagonisms that you nuture
unto yourself confident that the other party wouldn't even remember
you or what your original problem was. I have a very similar (but
far more heated) feud running with Jeremy Piven.

few weeks, use it instead. thanks for the well wishes DAN AND FUCKING
NO-FUCKING-ONE FUCKING ELSE. no really though, much love, even still.
