I heard about this on the radio. It made want to learn the violin, change my name to Nero, and stock up on napalm.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 16 July 2003 14:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 16 July 2003 15:50 (twenty-two years ago)

i read about this in the paper this morning and thought about starting a thread. so what kind of woman would do this just for a few hundred quid?? i don't mean that as a vicious 'god she must be fucked up' because obviously its the men partaking who are probably far sicker. but its okay cos its just a stupid hoax...right?

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 16 July 2003 16:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd be a little more sanguine about this if I didn't recall a story -- MAYBE just an urban legend, the Texas crew will have to confirm or deny. Basically this was apparently one of Ann Richards' political opponents, some lumpy GOP guy. As I understood it, he got into trouble or had questions raised regarding his involvement or participation in some deal wherein clients could go out onto the range from a ranch and 'rope some fillies,' except said fillies were rather nude females.

according to FOX you have the option of mounting your prey once your done.

Chris V. (Chris V), Wednesday, 16 July 2003 16:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Sounds like something rich film producers do for stars and financiers. At least I like to think so.

Mark C (Mark C), Wednesday, 16 July 2003 16:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Fortunately, the Columbine Paintball is a hoax. A very nice bait-and-switch!

Prude (Prude), Wednesday, 16 July 2003 17:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Sounds like something out of a Carl Hiaasen novel.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 16 July 2003 17:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Ned, even though Clayton Williams was an overall embarrassment, he never, I mean NEVER, did anything like that. All of his blunders were verbal in nature. Trust me, that was more than enough to turn me off him, and this is coming from someone who was never even 90% sold on Ann Richards. I mean, gosh, Richards was definitely going to be more attractive than someone who would make such an idiotic comment as that "rape" comment Williams made.

And I'm not sure the "Hunting for Bambi" thing is a hoax or not, but I was listening to the Schnitt Show yesterday and he seemed to think the footage on the site was all acting and that in reality this site was just trying to drum up business for a prostitution business. Or something along those lines. That, combined with what I've just read on the Snopes site, makes me feel that the whole affair is a sham.

Or so I'm hoping.

When it comes to hunting women if you can think of it we probably show it. Women are screaming with fear as our Team Bambi hunters track them down and blast them with paintball guns....

What horrendous, mysoginistic crap! Thy lowest common denominator is (yet again) a few men.

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Wednesday, 16 July 2003 23:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey Nick, ya might want to read the thread first and note about how it's all a scam -- albeit an unfunny one.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 16 July 2003 23:34 (twenty-two years ago)

And yet this scram was perpetrated by....a few men, probably.

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Wednesday, 16 July 2003 23:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Personally, I submitted a resume. Cause you know, summer job and all.

dave q, Thursday, 17 July 2003 07:41 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm sure they'd use pellets containing their own pasty spunk if they could
