It's amazing what queries sleep deprivation can inspire, eh?

I can't remember -- did Pink Lady sing? Or did they just stand around giggling at Jeff's weak "jokes"? Also, could they possibly have come up with a creepier name than "Pink Lady"?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Saturday, 19 July 2003 10:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I seem to remember Dawn being allowed to be a bit sassy with hapless cheese commando Tony Orlando, but were Pink Lady afforded any screen-time to develop personalities of their own apart outside of exotic, willowy arm candy for tiresome nebbish Jeff?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Saturday, 19 July 2003 10:40 (twenty-two years ago)

I believe they did sing; they were a pop duo and it was their variety show. The reason for bringing "Jeff" in was that they couldn't speak English.

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Saturday, 19 July 2003 10:40 (twenty-two years ago)

"Jeff" to be played by Fred Willard in the inevitable film version...

Pink Lady and Jeff is going to be on TV next week. I can't wait.

The whole series is out on DVD! God bless Rhino. Some of the most awkward television ever.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 19 July 2003 14:18 (twenty-two years ago)

"MONSTER!"

Pink Lady all the way. They have the best intros in the world

Lynskey (Lynskey), Saturday, 19 July 2003 14:23 (twenty-two years ago)

And then at the end they all hot tub up.

I pick Tony Orlando and Dawn, of course. They did "Knock Three Times" and "Candida". And Telma Hopkins was hot.

Reading this thread I now understand what that eX-Girl side project (Punk Lady) was referring to.

Chriddof (Chriddof), Saturday, 19 July 2003 17:51 (twenty-two years ago)

pink lady & momus?

Tad (llamasfur), Saturday, 19 July 2003 18:07 (twenty-two years ago)

At least on "Pink Lady & Jeff", the girls got top billing (hell, Jeff wasn't even allowed a last name!) Still, he did end up in the hot tub with them, I suppose.

six years pass...

hapless cheese commando Tony Orlando

A brilliant phrase.

Reviving since Agony Booth has done a review of the first Pink Lady and Jeff episode.
