Can there be a greater buzz harshener?

No. Finding oneself at work pissed is the only conceivable time where one thinks "Dammit, why the FUCK couldn't I have gotten arrested last night"

I find being pissed at work a great improvement. It's being hungover I can't handle.

Archel (Archel), Friday, 25 July 2003 09:23 (twenty-two years ago)

I have so far drank 3 cups of tea, two cans of coke and about 3 litres of water. Net effect = still pissed but now having sugar/caffeine rush. Arse.

if I am at work & realise that I am still drunk, I always feel guilty about the fact that I just drove to work! :-(

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 July 2003 09:28 (twenty-two years ago)

But yeah classic! Hangover at work = very dud

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 July 2003 09:28 (twenty-two years ago)

At least my work offers plentiful hangover cures. My favourite is their hot three-cheese pastry thing, which sounds kind of queasy but in fact sorts me out instantly.

Archel (Archel), Friday, 25 July 2003 09:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Wow, that sounds great! I want to work at your place!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 July 2003 10:07 (twenty-two years ago)

last time i was still drunk at work i was allowed to go and play with the dog that come in to the office - plus i hooked him on to my swivel chair and used him as a husky

i was hammered still

james (james), Friday, 25 July 2003 10:49 (twenty-two years ago)

where do you work? that sounds exceptionally understanding

H (Heruy), Friday, 25 July 2003 11:15 (twenty-two years ago)

i work for 5un (the server people) and yes they are good people but it was there fault because it was as a result of a works do where they didnt restrain me

james (james), Friday, 25 July 2003 11:16 (twenty-two years ago)

I remember a morning back in my stoner days when I was still slightly high as I was waiting for the bus to take me to work. I remember watching pigeons in the rain and feeling very mellow. It definitely eased the beginning of the day for me (though I think it may have also made me late--I normally walked to work and was taking a bus to speed things up).

Al Andalous, Friday, 25 July 2003 12:11 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't do this now seeing that I operate heavy machinery and whatnot but back when I was a receptionist I used to go to work still-drunk quite often--definite classic until the hangover hits.

In my own stoner days I'd smoke a bong before I got on the streetcar so I could be astronomically high getting down there and only slightly discombobulated while at work--though it made operation of the coffee maker somewhat more dangerous.

adam (adam), Friday, 25 July 2003 13:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Hmmm I am going to be in an office that has a dog and a swivel chair today, maybe I should try that out, james.

rosemary (rosemary), Friday, 25 July 2003 13:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Pilling your tits off whilst still attempting to be a responsible manager C/D?

Matt (Matt), Saturday, 26 July 2003 01:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Ugh - so painful, so... dud.

The one time I played quarters with people far better and more experienced, I had to work at 9am the next morning. After two and a half or three pitchers of cheap domestic lite beer, and a great deal of acidic vomiting.

I've never been more miserable in my life. I swore off doing anything when I had to work the next morning, and I've kept to it.
