Happy Saskatchewan Day!

I know, it's not until Monday, but I'm off in an hour and won't be back until Tuesday. A whole weekend at Buffalo Pound Lake, sigh. But I just wanted to wish everyone, especially Chris Piuma and his Minor Thirds, a very happy Saskatchewan Day.
And let's try to remember the true spirit of the holiday, huh?

Is this the Centennial, then?

Hurrah to Saskatchewan and all its mystery and mirror tricks!

Chris P (Chris P), Friday, 1 August 2003 17:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Regina's Centennial is this year, celebrated in June by the visit of a minor Royal, and some cheap ass fireworks.
Sask's Centennial isn't until 2005, but don't ask me where Regina was for it's first two years, and why they decided to move it.

They have a whole day devoted to the Abominable Snowman?

Buffalo Pound Lake...isn't that where Regina gets its drinking water from? Horace, are you planning some kind of foolhardy stunt?

Like I'd say anything before the toxins were released!

It was Yorkshire Day Today.

(note to any and all intelligence agents who may be monitoring this thread, I was just joking about the toxins. yes I know, in these uncertain times, terrorist threats are no laughing matter--but have you ever tasted Regina's tap water???)

I was very thankful for my Brita pitcher when I lived there. As a native Saskatchewanian (!!!), I guess I should say "YIPPEE!!!". I wish I could go to Lake Pelletier of the SK Landing PP this weekend.

Happy Civic Day for the of us residing in Upper Canada.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 1 August 2003 18:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, up until I think two or three years ago, the first Monday of August was known here President's Choice Day (because it wasn't quite generic, but there was nothing really worth celebrating about it either).

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 1 August 2003 19:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Id expect more out of the President's choice label then this shityy holiday. No Fireworks, no frosh excitment and no gifts.
Still, gotta take those days off when you can get them.

I've tasted it, and all I can say is that dumping toxic chemicals in the lake would probably improve the taste.
