Trees or Gigantic Plants In The House?

I'm thinking I need a gigantic tree for my new apartment, perhaps (though not neccessarily) in the tropical style. Does anyone have any suggestions for trees or giant plants? Note: must be difficult to kill.

get a few pre-giant cacti. even if they are dead they still look alive and you can ward off evil do-ers with the prickliness of it all.

both good suggestions and useful. who doesn't need rubber and thorns? I'm thinking of kind of a Godfather 2 pre-Che Cuban motif, roulette wheel and all. Banana trees?

Rubber trees are excellent house-plants. Though they're certainly not tree-like, spider plants make excellent house-plants also, but you gotta be careful, they'll drop their seedlings into nearby pots.

We've had one of these for just over two years. It's fairly indestructible...

Sequoias are ideal for the larger apartment, I think.

I had a cute tree in the bedroom for a while. I watered it and even sometimes said nice things to it. It died. Then I thought to put it out on the fake balcony (ie: french doors leading to nothing). It continued to be dead. Then one day I saw worms in it so I threw it out by the dumpster.

It turns out some plants need sunlight. What do you know? It sure was pretty while it lasted though.
