Is there anyone out there willing to defend this representation of all that is sad and pathetic about the human race?

Chriddof (Chriddof), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 15:15 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, at least hes honest about it. which is more than i can say for some. hes not funny though. but anyway, bye

Bob Shaw (Bob Shaw), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 15:26 (twenty-two years ago)

i used to think he was funny as a kid. i watched Up The Elephant & Round The Castle, i loved Home James, i even went to see Big Break being filmed at BBC TV Centre. this was all many years ago before the miracle reverse-lobotomy i guess.

He was better after he changed his name to New Order.

nestmanso (nestmanso), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 15:47 (twenty-two years ago)

He attempted to sexually assault my ex-wife once. She set the police on him, since he drove off in his Rolls in an obviously drunk state, and he lost his licence. Hurrah!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 21:28 (twenty-two years ago)

He's an idiot, so what's to defend? I can't (for first time in ILX memory).

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 21:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh! "Jim Davidson", not "John Davison". Still, John Davison is pretty indefensible as well. Who's Jim Davidson?

Chris P (Chris P), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 21:33 (twenty-two years ago)

It's all relative: compared to Richard Digance (with whom he has appeared) Jim Davidson is a laugh-a-minute. Comedy folk singers - where's the humour there? (Cf Mike Harding)

Hey, he's been drawing Garfield for years now, and though it's lost some steam, you have to admire his dedication.

NA (Nick A.), Wednesday, 6 August 2003 13:32 (twenty-two years ago)

In an amazing piece of synchronicity, I've just suggested to Nick Southall that we employ "Nick Nick" himself to review garage music for Stylus.

four years pass...

just caught a glimpse of jim davidson on 'hells kitchen' or whatever the fuck.

he and brian from big brother (from ages ago, not the new one) are beefing.

jim is being a homophobe, apparently.

he says not, he says "to me gay means Good As You".

what does that even mean?

i left the room anyway.

He was better after he changed his name to New Order.

this made me laugh far more than it should've

blueski, Monday, 10 September 2007 21:32 (eighteen years ago)

A couple of times Davidson has mimicked both McGuigan's and Dowling's accents when quoting them - except both times it's exactly the same Jim Davidson's Irishman Impression. Bit embarassing.

blueski, Monday, 10 September 2007 21:34 (eighteen years ago)

if they were Indian etc.

blueski, Monday, 10 September 2007 21:34 (eighteen years ago)

He is a Charlton Athletic fan!

Just got offed, Monday, 10 September 2007 21:35 (eighteen years ago)

Nick nick.

Dom Passantino, Monday, 10 September 2007 21:36 (eighteen years ago)

Brian from Big Brother said he intended to be BAY - 'Better Than You'. I hadn't considered this might be worth watching but...

DJ Mencap, Monday, 10 September 2007 21:38 (eighteen years ago)

Do you ever see Jim and Garry Bushell together on the terraces piss in the directors' box?

DJ Mencap, Monday, 10 September 2007 21:39 (eighteen years ago)

Sadly not. Steve Davis and Kelly Holmes have mysteriously failed to appear too. I don't even think the Nugget's an Addick any more, he switched loyalties to Leyton Orient...

Just got offed, Monday, 10 September 2007 21:41 (eighteen years ago)

oh well anyway he got chucked out shockah.

That one guy that hit it and quit it, Sunday, 16 September 2007 11:36 (eighteen years ago)

Jim Davidson. Chas'n'Dave. Tottingham Hotspur. The Falklands War.

Ahhhhh.......golden memories.

PhilK, Sunday, 16 September 2007 12:10 (eighteen years ago)

one year passes...

That Piers Morgan interview on TV this week:

"Black people - we just about come round to liking them and they make them traffic wardens."

But he still makes Piers laugh so that's alright then.
