An awfully selfish question about Spacemen 3

I hate to post so selfishly, but I seem to remember a long-ago faraway post on ILM in which someone stated that Spacemen 3 CDs were very easy to come by in the UK. I haven't had too much trouble finding their stuff, EXCEPT for 'Recurring,' and I am in MUST-SEEK-OUT mode for this album at the moment.

So, I was wondering if that statement was correct--are they really that easy to come by in the UK? Does anyone have an extra copy lying around they'd like to sell me? If a UK poster sees one in a bargain bin, would he/she pick it up and have me reimburse him/her for it? Also, more broadly, is the IL* tape-trading thing going to happen? I'm always on the hunt for more music. Thanks, and I apologize again for the selfishness of this thread.

I have a copy of the full UK version of the album I can burn for you, just drop me a line.

*more* people should post this kind of thing. what's in the sale bins where you live? the Position Normal album is $15 (about $7 US [?]) in Dunedin, if that's any kind of deal to anyone anywhere else.

I am glad to see the Position Normal album so celebrated, oh yes.

Clarke. What about the interweb? I'm sure there are cooler places you could buy from, but I see amazon.co.uk has all the Spacemen 3 CDs you could want. They will ship overeseas, y'know. www.actionrecords.co.uk is a reliable independent store if you want to check that out.

What, a question about Spacemen3 that was not posted by me? Ye gads, everything is not right in the universe.

That's the one album I don't have here because I was always of the opinion that it wasn't very good. Until someone (Mark?) was playing it at SF and I suddenly remembered that it had some good songs on it. So when I was back at my mum's house, I dug it out and looked at it, but then realised that it was on vinyl, but there was no turntable at my mum's house, so there was poor me looking at the 3, 3, 3, 3, 3333s and unable to hear it. Sigh.

Sorry Clarke - didn't read your question properly - neither amazon nor action-records list Recurring. Looks to me like it's deleted. BUT, there's a used CD copy for sale at www.gemm.com

Thanks for the advice, guys... I might have to take you up on that offer, Ned--I'll let you know in a few days (after some more extensive interweb scouring). Also, I'm not AT ALL surprised to hear that there's a UK version which (I assume) is different from the US version. It's strange, I'm getting into more and more stuff and realizing how hard to find some of it is. But, I usually have good luck if I persist long enough, so (knock on wood) maybe this will pan out, too. ;-) And Kate, what didn't you like about the album?
