I thought this would be a CSI/Grissom-Sarah shipping thread.

Leee (Leee), Wednesday, 6 August 2003 20:41 (twenty-two years ago)

What is it? I can't read mp3's.

colin s barrow (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 6 August 2003 22:11 (twenty-two years ago)

thom west (thom w), Wednesday, 6 August 2003 22:33 (twenty-two years ago)

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Wednesday, 6 August 2003 22:53 (twenty-two years ago)

That's what I was hoping/fearing too Leee.

Larcole (Nicole), Wednesday, 6 August 2003 22:55 (twenty-two years ago)

You're a fellow TWOPer, huh?

Leee (Leee), Wednesday, 6 August 2003 23:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Of course.

Larcole (Nicole), Wednesday, 6 August 2003 23:39 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm laughing so fucking hard I just sprayed boogers all over my photocopied meerkat from Webster's...

Ann Sterzinger (Ann Sterzinger), Thursday, 7 August 2003 00:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Chris Barrus (Chris Barrus), Thursday, 7 August 2003 04:17 (twenty-two years ago)

i thought it was going to be about computers.....

Orbit (Orbit), Thursday, 7 August 2003 04:21 (twenty-two years ago)

TWOPer

Er?

(I thought Dunn as well but I've not actually read it, I just remember a classmate in UCLA days talking about it highly.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 7 August 2003 04:27 (twenty-two years ago)

charlie, you beat me to the BBM reference, curse you ;)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 7 August 2003 07:38 (twenty-two years ago)

thom west (thom w), Thursday, 7 August 2003 08:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 7 August 2003 08:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I almost played Geek Love last night as p[art of my 12" of love section. In the end Perfume won out.

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 7 August 2003 08:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Damn - is that a song called Geek Love then? I'm writing one with the same title right now. Damn damn damn.

colin s barrow (colin s barrow), Thursday, 7 August 2003 10:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, "Geek Love" was a song by Bang Bang Machine, and (in its original unedited form) absolutely fucking splendid.

"Apple and Leona the lizard girl"...it all seemed so mysterious at the time! And the 12" has the honour of being the very first record I received via mail order. Mmmm, 12" mailers...

And the b-side rejoices in the title, "Fuck Machine"! It's awful.

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Thursday, 7 August 2003 10:55 (twenty-two years ago)

TWoPer=one who visits televisionwithoutpity.com for snarky tv show ep summaries or obsessive forums...

(yay twopers)

JuliaA (j_bdules), Thursday, 7 August 2003 11:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh my God, if "Geek Love" makes it into Club Freaky Trigger rotation, YOU MUST LET ME KNOW so that I can tell the singer (a friend of mine from college) that she's an international smash.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 7 August 2003 12:16 (twenty-two years ago)

This TWOP site sounds worthy.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 7 August 2003 12:17 (twenty-two years ago)

another TWOP-like site is Planetsocks.com, which is devoted to reality shows. Some of their ep write ups(find the ones on Joe Millionaire and Bands on the Run) are fookin' hysterical.

This site evolved from the old Real World Sucks -> Real World Blows -> etc.

well worth wasting a workday to peruse, at least.

Kingfish (Kingfish), Thursday, 7 August 2003 13:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Julia is OTM about TWOP, esp. its snarkiness. You'd think that a site populated by women wouldn't get patriarchal and possessive on its message board, but you'd be wrong.

Leee (Leee), Thursday, 7 August 2003 17:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Leee OTM.

Larcole (Nicole), Thursday, 7 August 2003 17:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Okay, so I went and dug-out my copy of Geek Love that my mother gave to me (she liked it) and it's just been tossed into my 'Will Read One of These Books Next' pile, thanks to this thread.

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Thursday, 7 August 2003 18:27 (twenty-two years ago)

wasn't this record wonderful in almost exactly the same way as Birthday by the Sugarcubes?
