They don't have faces but they grow by themselves.

I stand corrected.

I remember staying in a nice hotel with my parents when I was 3 and screaming that the plant in the hotel room was frowning at me. Then it flashed this evil smile and I swear it was plotting to eat me. It was a long night for us all.

I didn't know plants could care about Belle and Sebastian one way or another -- I stand corrected.

One night I became convinced that the fern at the end of my bed was trying to kill me. So I threw it out the window (er, window was open, but it went through a screen). Woke-up my whole family. They were not impressed.

Turned out I was having hallucinations as a result of some groovy medication.

The acid daze involved a lot of staring at plants for me. Quite often, trees appeared to have several forearms and hands waving out from the bushels of leaves. And when that Ween video finally came out for Push The Li'l Daisies, I was convinced that the whole planet had started tripping again for the first time since the 70s. There really was a huge upsurge of acid use in the late 80s. Anyway, yeah, the push the daisies video looked like exactly what we experienced several times in a park, except they were yellow dandelions dancing and waving at us.

Never wanted to beat up a plant, though.

It was a particularly evil plant, I must admit. Kept having little baby ferms and stuff, and when you planted them they started growing and making more little baby ferns. Obviously it did not abstain or practice contraception.
